Make it green! Our own Birgit Schmidt-Puckhaber visits the algae house - Where normally tomatoes 🍅, cucumber 🥒 or herbs otherwise thrive under glass, in Ahlen-Vorhelm in Germany, they grow green spirulina algae. Inhouse Farming was a guest of @Ulrich Averberg, chairman of Deutsche Algengenossenschaft AG (the German Algae Cooperative). In 10 tanks, the algae use sunlight ☀️, CO2 and nutrient solution to produce high-quality biomass and oxygen. In the closed process 🔄, algae are inoculated, “fed”, moved, harvested, dried and sold as the purest powder or flakes. How does it work? What are the pricky points? The answers will be discussed at the Inhouse Farming - EuroTier 2024! Together with producers of insects 🐜, shrimp 🍤, fish 🐟, herbs, cannabis, vegetables 🍑  and algae, we will show and discuss how to make business with regional “superfoods” - let's form alliances 🙌 ! Zu Gast im Algenhaus - mach das mal grün! Wo sonst Tomate 🍅, Gurke 🥒oder Kräuter unter Glas gedeihen, gibt es in Ahlen - Vorhelm (NRW) einen Pool wachsender, grüner Spirulina Algen. Ich war zu Gast bei Ulrich Averberg, Vorsitzender der DAG, der Deutschen Algen Genossenschaft. In 10 Becken nutzen die Algen Sonnenlicht ☀️, CO2 und Nährlösung und produzieren hochwertige Biomasse und Sauerstoff. Im geschlossenen Prozess 🔄werden Algen beimpft, „gefüttert“, bewegt, geerntet, getrocknet und als reinstes Pulver oder als Flakes in den Handel gebracht. Was braucht es, was bringt es, wo hakt es? wird Thema sein auf der Inhouse Farming Plattform der EuroTier 2024! Gemeinsam mit Vertretern der Inhouse Produzenten von Insekten🐜, Garnelen 🍤, Fischen 🐟, Kräutern , Canabis, Gemüse 🍑🥬 und Algen wird gezeigt und diskutiert, wie diese regionalen, kontrollierbaren Wertstoffe und „Superfood“ effektiv erzeugt, veredelt und vermarktet werden können - lasst uns Allianzen 🙌 bilden! 💡 Are insects and algae feedstuffs for future? @In the debate about securing food for a growing world population, animal feed is an increasingly important topic. In the future, feedstuffs that are not in direct competition with human food will be prioritised. Livestock farmers can already now reduce the amount of land required for feed cultivation by actively applying efficient feed management measures. Protein sources that can replace rapeseed and soya and other conventional feedstuffs are increasingly viewed as an attractive alternative.
