🇦🇿 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗷𝗮𝗻 🇦🇿   Yesterday we had the honour to host the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Majnun Mammadov, from Azerbaijan alongside his delegation of advisors, directors and heads of departments. 🇦🇿 At the end of the day they were warmly welcomed by Puck van Holsteijn our CEO, Mirjam Boekestijn CEO of Dutch Greenhouse Delta, Ivo Meijer Senior manager international & economic affairs at Gemeente Westland, Rita Nozdrina Commercial Sales Lead at Signify and Will Zuiderwijk our Account Manager. 👏   The minister and his delegation came to World Horti Center to learn more about high tech greenhouses. They’re working on increasing the horticulture industry in Azerbaijan, after Sovjet times this industry collapsed and is now picking up again. Azerbaijan knows a lot of climate zones, 9 out of 11, from cold mountains to desserts, these different climate zones ask for different types of controlled environment agriculture. 🌿   Puck and Mirjam gave the delegation a presentation about both World Horti Center and Dutch Greenhouse Delta and highlighted the collaboration opportunities with our partners. 🤝 After followed a presentation given by Rita Nozdrina, she explained how Signify can work together with growers in Azerbaijan. The visit was wrapped up with an interesting tour through our building given by Will and Ivo.

𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 | 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐯𝐚   Last Friday afternoon we hosted two interesting visits in World Horti Center. 🇲🇩🇺🇸 We started the afternoon with a group of 14 students from the University of Pittsburg. They wanted to learn more about innovations and sustainability in the horticulture industry. 🌿 Aad Verduijn was their HortiXpert and guided them through our building, along the way they also listened to pitches from Rob Smit from Green Simplicity at the small vertical farm and Dick Verweij from Van der Knaap Group of Companies in their own booth.   After this fun visit followed a high-level delegation from Moldova. 🤩 The delegation included the ministers for foreign affairs, economic affairs, culture and agriculture, also the director of the national investment company was present. This visit was a follow-up to the visit of president Maia Sandu of Moldova last year. The afternoon was kicked-off with presentations from our CEO Puck van Holsteijn, Mirjam Boekestijn CEO at Dutch Greenhouse Delta and Anil Kumar Strategic Advisor at Gemeente Westland. After followed a round table discussion with valuable insights in the Moldovan sector and how the Dutch industry can help taking this to the next level. To wrap things up we ended the session with a tour given by Hans Ligtenberg. All in all a very fruitful afternoon, we’re looking forward to building a strong horticulture industry in Moldova together! 👏   Thanks for hosting this visit together Dutch Greenhouse Delta, Gemeente Westland and Ministerie van Landbouw, Visserij, Voedselzekerheid en Natuur. 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 | 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐔 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐭   Last Tuesday the ambassador of Mexico to the Netherlands, Carmen Moreno Toscano together with the Head of Economic Affairs and Trade Promotion, Desirée Colomé brought a visit to World Horti Center. 🇲🇽 They were welcomed by our CEO Puck van Holsteijn and our Account Manager Will Zuiderwijk. Puck gave them a brief presentation about our knowledge and innovation center, after followed a round table discussion to explore the collaboration opportunities between Mexico and the Netherlands. 🤝 During this discussion the ambassador spoke with Frank De Lange from KUBO Group, Peter Könemann and Petra Rutten from Priva, Rob Smit from Green Simplicity, Micha van Dasler from Van der Valk Horti Systems and Ruben Lensing from Lumiforte. Among others they talked about the size of the horticulture sector in Mexico, water issues and the growth of controlled environment agriculture. The afternoon was wrapped up with a tour through our building given by Will.   Next to that we had a team of TU Delft Campus Innovation & Impact Centre visiting. Ronald Hemerik and Ivo Meijer invited Anske Plante, Jenny Konings, Michael Wulfsen, Muhammet Bilgic and Dario Turelli to our location on behalf of the Economics team of Gemeente Westland. Our CEO Puck stopped by to talk about our concept. Later on the group got a tour from Ivo and after they discussed intensively about the topic ‘impact for a better horticulture society’, the development of the campus area and the unique ecosystem both Delft and Westland share. We hope this meeting helps in creating a stronger bond between the horticulture sector, our campus and students from TU Delft. 👏

𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 Today we had a group visiting from Jordan. The goal of their visit? 🧐 Gain knowledge on innovation and trading opportunities in horticulture. Their HortiXpert Aad Verduijn told them all about World Hort Center, the sector, upcoming innovations and the differences in controlled environment agriculture. After their tour they went to Tomatoworld to see tomato cultivation up close. 🍅 Thanks for stopping by! 👏

𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 The busy GreenTech and FlowerTrials week might be over, but that doesn’t mean it got quit in World Horti Center. 😁 A lot of foreign visitors were still in the Netherlands to get inspired by, and learn more from, the horticulture industry. 🤩 This week we had groups visiting from Costa Rica, the Republic of Korea, China, South Eastern Europe, South and Middle America and Turkey. From growers, top management leaders, farmers and school managers to junior diplomats and other people related to governments, they all learned more from our HortiXperts Hans Ligtenberg, Aad Verduijn and pierre Grootscholten. 🤓 We hope you enjoyed your tour, thanks for your visit! 👏

𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 | 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟱 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱   At the end of 2022 we had the honour to welcome the Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in World Horti Center. 🇻🇳 During this event the focus was on cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands on horticulture. Last Monday was another important step in this collaboration that took place in the townhall of Gemeente Westland. In the presence of Mayor Bouke Arends five Memorandums of Understanding got signed between the Netherlands Vietnam Horti Business Platform (Henk van Eijk) and the Vietnamese provinces, Dak Nong, Hoa Binh, Ninh Tuan, Phu Yeng and Quang Binh. 🤝   After followed a seminar organised by NVHBP, the Viet Nam Embassy in the Hague and the Municipality named ‘The Future of Dutch - Vietnamese Horticulture’. The goal of this seminar was to exchange knowledge and explore opportunities related to horticulture. Among others speeches and presentations were given by Mayor Bouke Arends, the Ambassador of Vietnam, Ngo Huong Nam, Strategic accountmanager for the municipality of Westland, Ivo Meijer and CEO of Dutch Greenhouse Delta, Mirjam Boekestijn.   Also our CEO Puck van Holsteijn was there to present World Horti Center, to the 50+ Vietnamese audience. She told them more about our vision, how research, education, business and government work together under our roof and she also highlighted our theme squares. A very useful morning, we’re looking forward to what the future holds! 🤩

𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 | 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿   It feels like yesterday, but exactly one week ago the Exclusive Networking Dinner kicked-off at this exact moment. ☺️ We welcomed hundreds of international guests in World Horti Center at the start of the GreenTech and FlowerTrials week.   During the event, incoming delegations had the chance to connect with the Dutch horticulture industry. 🤝 A great way to get to know each other right before both events started, this made networking in the days that followed a lot easier. We thank everyone for joining and hope you had a great week, we're already looking forward to next year. 🤩   This ‘Farming the Future’-event was organized by Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development, Topsector Horticulture & Starting Materials, Gemeente Westland, AVAG | Greenhouse Technology Center, Dutch Greenhouse Delta, GreenTech and World Horti Center. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 & 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 | 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟓 Today was the final day of the GreenTech and FlowerTrials week. 🌿🌸 People from all over the world came to the Netherlands, the beating heart of the horticulture industry, to learn more from the best. 🇳🇱 They got inspired by our high-tech industry, discovered new varieties in bedding and pot plants and made new connections. World Horti Center was buzzing all week and so it was today. 🥳 We kicked off the morning with a meeting of Gemeente Westland and throughout the day we hosted several groups who booked a HortiXperience. We had people visiting from China, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and Japan. 🇨🇳🇳🇿🇰🇷🇯🇵 They learned more about the industry and how to realize food security in their own country from our HortiXperts Hans Ligtenberg, Lenny Dijkshoorn, Aad Verduijn and pierre Grootscholten. For now we’re wrapping up this busy, but most of all fun week with this final post.
