Some highlights from our recent #InfinityWeek celebrations, held across our London, Milan, and Zola offices! At YOOX NET-A-PORTER, each year we create a dedicated moment to recognise our colleagues’ achievements in sustainability, with a week full of activities immersing us in our Infinity sustainability goals to build a more circular and inclusive future for fashion.  Our care & repair partners at The Seam joined our London office for a special pop-up event. YNAPers were able to bring their favourite pieces, in need of love for a complimentary repair or alteration, giving worn garments and accessories a new lease of life. In our Milan and Bologna offices, we teamed up with slow fashion start-up Double Trouble Bologna, who hosted workshops that encouraged our colleagues to take time out to work directly with responsible materials. They learnt hands-on skills and were guided through how to make personalised wallets from deadstock and vegan leathers. A big thank you to everyone who got involved and made these events a success!  #LifeAtYNAP

In May, two of our Employee Resource Groups—the Wellness Collective and Greenroots, and Fabric, the employee group at the core of our people programme—organised two fantastic events for YNAPers in our Hong Kong and Japan offices. In Hong Kong, YNAP employees participated in an uplifting yoga session, which offered a chance to unwind during a busy day and dedicate some time to mindfulness.  Meanwhile, in Japan, we celebrated International Tea Day on the 21st of May. Celebrating the heritage of tea, an age-old symbol of well-being, YNAP employees came together to bring their favourite varieties to the office to share and enjoy with colleagues, creating a moment to bond.   At both events, our employees explored ways to incorporate these practices into their daily routines and discussed the benefits they offer.     Thanks to our Wellness Collective - Greenroots ERGs, and our Fabric Ambassadors, for organising these events!     #LifeatYNAP

Last week, our Parents & Caregivers ERG and our Fabric Ambassadors—dedicated employees who foster community spirit and positivity at YOOX NET-A-PORTER—celebrated Mother's Day in the US and Italy. In Mahwah and Clifton, YNAP employees created beautiful floral bouquets while in Milan, our team received vibrant flowering plants at the office entrance. Taking the time to honor the incredible women and caregivers in our lives brought joy and warmth to our offices.     A big thank you to everyone who participated and to our Parents & Caregivers ERG and Fabric Ambassadors for organising such a meaningful event!

At YOOX NET-A-PORTER, our eight Employee Resource Groups connect our people by building communities with shared passions and experiences.   The newest of our ERGs – the Wellness Collective – recently endorsed 12 of our YNAPers who took to the streets of Milan for the Wings for Life World Run 2024. Each of them showed an incredible amount of sheer determination to outrun the moving finish line, and all funds raised by the ERG on behalf of the runners were donated to Wings for Life - Spinal Cord Research Foundation, whose mission is to find a cure for spinal cord injury.   Around the world, over 265,000 people – from seasoned athletes to first-timers – participated in the annual event last weekend, united by a common cause. Congratulations to our inspiring YNAPers for completing the run and raising vital funds for Wings for Life’s spinal cord injury research. See them in action below.

This week, ad interim CEO Alison Loehnis hosted the first YNAP Together of the year at our Italian HQ in Milan.     A key platform for our people to learn about what’s happening across the business, this global e-townhall focused on one of Alison’s obsessions: the customer. She also welcomed Chief Digital Marketing Officer Fabio Corfone and President, YOOX & THE OUTNET Paolo Mascio to the stage, who shared deeper insights into who our customers are, what they want and how we’re working to exceed their expectations.    Each YNAP Together is equally an occasion to both celebrate our people and address their feedback. Alison recognised the 73 YNAPers across our Italian sites who’ve been with us for an incredible 15 years or more! She also honoured our global Fabric Ambassadors, who continue to bring joy to the workplace by organising fun events and activities – even meeting the local team afterwards to give her heartfelt thanks in person.    Closing the session, Alison sat down with Senior Customer Research Specialist Matteo Azzolini to answer questions from colleagues curious to know more about our customers. Check out some moments from the event below. Pictures: Antonio Mantovani & Marco Corriere

At YOOX NET-A-PORTER, we have seven ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) – employee-formed and led networks that connect our people and contribute to building a more inclusive workplace.   One thing they’re passionate about is raising awareness of topics that matter to them. This week, our Parents & Caregivers Network and Adaptability Network teamed up to host an event in our Bologna office focused on genetic diseases.   The ERGs brought in Professor Marcella Zollino from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Dr Simona Amenta from Policlinico San Pietro to discuss the types of genetic diseases and available treatments. Colleagues also heard from Daniele Palumbo, founder of CHAMP1 Foundation Europe (part of CHAMP1 Research Foundation ), who gave a touching first-hand account as a father of a CHAMP1-affected child.   An opportunity to learn from experts and advocates alike, the talk was also a safe space for employees to share their experiences as caregivers or show their support for those affected. Thank you to the ERG for organising this event and to our guests for providing their expert knowledge and personal insights.

Throughout March, we celebrated Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day with a series of employee-led events across our global offices.   Rounding off the month, our female colleagues based in Hong Kong and Tokyo each enjoyed an intimate lunch hosted by Natalie Lee, General Manager, APAC & Japan. Natalie opened up about her experience as a woman in leadership, observing how gender bias has shifted throughout her career and across the international locations she has worked in. The teams also discussed the importance of work-life balance, traditional gender roles in their cultures and how they can continue building a support network that empowers women.   These moments were an opportunity to reflect, engage in meaningful conversation and learn from peers, each with their own voice and stories to tell. Thank you to our APAC teams and to our Women’s Network ERG (Employee Resource Group) for sponsoring these events, which connect and inspire YNAPers across our organisation to shape a more diverse and inclusive workplace.

In Dubai, our regional Middle Eastern headquarters, colleagues observing Ramadan recently gathered for Iftar, the evening meal taken at sundown to break their daily fast.   Joined by Celine Lefebvre, General Manager, Middle East, the dinner was a special moment for everyone to connect, converse and enjoy a significant touchpoint of their day together. Thank you to Soukaïna CHERBANI, Financial Controller, Middle East, for organising this year’s event and contributing towards fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace at YOOX NET-A-PORTER.   A time for prayer and reflection for Muslims around the world, Ramadan concludes on 9 April and is followed by Eid al-Fitr, which our YNAPers in the Middle East will take as public holiday. Eid Mubarak to everyone in our community who celebrates!   #LifeAtYNAP

This March, we’ve been celebrating International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month with a series of inspiring talks and events.    Most recently, NET-A-PORTER Fashion Director Kay Barron welcomed special guest Kate Bailey, Senior Curator of Theatre and Performance at the Victoria and Albert Museum, for a live Q&A at our London Westfield office. Together, they explored how Kate sought to redefine the term “diva” through the V&A’s titular exhibition, which showcases the power of iconic performers across opera, stage, popular music and film throughout the years.    Revealing how the passion project began, Kate discussed her extensive research journey, looking for stories of triumph from divas who have moved the needle. She also gave insights into her experience in the arts industry and shared her ambitions for the future, recognising the V&A’s championing of both female artists and team members alike.    The DIVA exhibition, supported by NET-A-PORTER, will run until 10 April at the V&A.
