In 2020, Georgia Tech opened The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design and our client, the Kendeda Fund, donated $25 million for the building and $5 million to support a program to tell the building’s story, inspire others, and help launch similar projects. A few months ago, we shared a post entitled ‘philanthropy is not a ‘nice to have.’’ We really, really meant it. So, we’re posting it again. Only louder and with an added exclamation mark. Because philanthropy is essential. It creates more certainty that services that can be delivered. That our communities will continue to be supported. That voices can be heard. That inequities can be addressed. And, that people will have the tools and resources they need to thrive. So, having mechanisms that actively grow generosity and strengthen philanthropic ecosystems is really important. As a community foundation, that’s our MO. We invest and grow donations, so they continue to support our communities long into the future. We provide a practical way for giving to go further. And actively work to increase the philanthropic pie. Philanthropy is essential. Let’s work together to grow it.
