At YOOX NET-A-PORTER, we have seven ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) – employee-formed and led networks that connect our people and contribute to building a more inclusive workplace. One thing they’re passionate about is raising awareness of topics that matter to them. This week, our Parents & Caregivers Network and Adaptability Network teamed up to host an event in our Bologna office focused on genetic diseases. The ERGs brought in Professor Marcella Zollino from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Dr Simona Amenta from Policlinico San Pietro to discuss the types of genetic diseases and available treatments. Colleagues also heard from Daniele Palumbo, founder of CHAMP1 Foundation Europe (part of CHAMP1 Research Foundation ), who gave a touching first-hand account as a father of a CHAMP1-affected child. An opportunity to learn from experts and advocates alike, the talk was also a safe space for employees to share their experiences as caregivers or show their support for those affected. Thank you to the ERG for organising this event and to our guests for providing their expert knowledge and personal insights.

🌟 Impressive Digital Day in Rotkreuz! 🌟 I had the privilege of attending the Digital Day in Rotkreuz this week, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! The program was complete, and the schedule was well-organized. Digital Day 2024 at Rotkreuz was an inspiring gathering of industry leaders, experts, and enthusiasts. We explored the latest trends, technologies, and opportunities to leverage the power of digital in our ever-evolving world. The event moderated by amazing Dr. Heiko Visarius featured engaging keynotes, interactive activities, and insightful sessions: One of the highlights was the keynote by Prof. em. Dr. rer. nat. Lutz Jäncke from the University of Zurich. His insights into the transition from the Stone Age to the digital world were truly fascinating. Another captivating keynote focused on the future of Oncology Care. Matthias Bodmer , Healthcare Solutions Lead. We also had the pleasure of hearing from Paul Strijbos, Senior Principal Neurotech Innovation Leader, who discussed the development and use of fit-for-purpose digital health technology. If this topic sparks your interest, be sure to stay tuned for more information. Last but not least, Dr. Caroline Lustenberger from ETHZ and Herencia delivered a captivating keynote on Sleep Research and its applications in Alzheimer's and Cardiovascular diseases. If this piques your curiosity, you can find more details on our program subsite. One highlight was the presence of Thomas H. Zurbuchen , Ex NASA Associate Administrator, who shared invaluable lessons on navigating high-risk environments and drawing parallels between space exploration and healthcare advancements. 🌌 The focus and concept of the Digital Day were truly inspiring. We are in a time where digital technology is evolving rapidly, and by discussing these topics, we are paving the way for innovative solutions. It's an opportunity to make a digital impact, upskill ourselves, and create value for Roche. #DigitalDay2024 #DigitalInnovation #RocheImpact #DigitalDay #Innovation #Roche #Networking #Rotkreuz

Looking back on the past 8 years with Georg Jensen, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions—gratitude, happiness, a touch of nostalgia. These years have been a wild ride, filled with ups and downs, but mostly, they've been about growth and learning. Being part of this company has been like finding a second family. I've faced challenges, taken on exciting projects, and met some truly amazing colleagues along the way. But what sets this place apart is the way they've got your back, especially when life throws you a curveball. Last year, I found myself dealing with something I never saw coming—#lipedema. It's this chronic and very progressive condition that most people haven't even heard of, but trust me, it's a big deal. It is estimated that 11% of women have lipedema and in Denmark alone, it affects hundreds of thousands of women. It turns out, I've been battling it since my teenage years, and finally getting diagnosed was a huge relief, but also very scary. Telling my managers about it was one of the scariest things I've ever had to do. I needed their support to get treatment before things got worse. And you know what? They totally came through for me. From management to HR to my coworkers, everyone was so understanding and supportive. It made all the difference, especially when I had to jet off to Germany for surgeries because, believe it or not, there aren't any treatment options for lipedema in Denmark. So, here I am, seven months and 3 surgeries later, with one more to go next week. It's been tough, but knowing I've got this amazing support system behind me has made it bearable. So, a huge shoutout to Georg Jensen and the whole team—I couldn't have made it this far without you guys. Here's to another year of kicking butt together and hopefully celebrating my nine-year workiversary in 2025! Oh, and if you're curious about lipedema or just want to know more about my journey, check out my website at www.lipodem.dk and the article about me in Berlingske https://lnkd.in/djCgsmvW #workiversary #dkpol #lipødem #lipedema #greatplacetowork #georgjensen #support

Today marks my second trip around the sun with evolvedMD. With pinker skin and growing clarity on who I am, I've become a version of myself that I'm most proud of. My key takeaways two years in? I don't have many. Nor do I want to feed you LinkedIn-flavored drivel. Just find a company that 1) is run by human beings; 2) will respect you as a human being; 3) will relentlessly invest in you as a human being. In other words, if your company's heart goes "cha-ching" rather than "lup-dup", you won't make it a year—let alone two. So find one that you like, and one that likes you back, and you'll go the distance—together. The fellow human you see on the evolvedMD motorbike, Sentari Minor, has done it all since day one. So have all the fellow humans not pictured, shout out to: Erik Osland, Steve Biljan, Kim Ho, Jaye Williams, Sarah Hanchett, Doris Huang, Vanessa Hinkle, Rebecca Ann D., Ellie Kalberer, Jazmine Cole, Tyler Yerkovich, and the rest of the evolvedMD team. #anniversary #workanniversary #peoplefirst

[ excellent communicators and collaborators ] In the times we live in we need to be excellent communicators and collaborators to tackle challenges we are facing and promote our well-being for people and the planet. This was my PechaKucha presentation yesterday at Mindpark Mindpark @ Fabriken1891 Helsingborg. Kudos to Yana Mitskevich Karsten Deppert Dimitrij Aleshkov Parul Ghosh who organise these events. The format 20 slides x 20 seconds is challenging - but I like a challenge 😊 My topic: 🦹♀️🦹♀️How applied neuroscience can enhance relationships and build sustainable teams.

When 🗣️asked about her expectations for the hackathon, Gladys commented: 💭“I expect a discussion that will help build a pragmatic path forward for the development and use of probabilistic risk assessment. What can quick wins (prototypes) look like? Can ONTOX resources be enough to build them, and when? If not, with whom can ONTOX collaborate?” Explore further details about the hackathon on the website 👉 https://lnkd.in/dv7MHtJn. Utrecht Science Park #OntoxHackathon

According to the State of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging in Life Sciences report, the importance of DEI has declined across all genders, races, and age groups. According to the report, in 2022, 85% of respondents agreed that DEI is important compared to 68% in 2024. #hresxecutives #DEIB I was interviewed by BioSpace and shared my thoughts on the current state of DEI. This event was very interesting, mainly because held by humble and extraordinary professionals. Daniele's direct testimony was touching and I noticed several people deeply moved (myself included). Especially parents, who know well what it means to feel helpless facing a child's suffering. A special thank you to Evanghelos Papaioannu and Edward William Gnudi for their hard work to make this sharing possible: collaboration, empathy and altruism always generate beautiful things.
