European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has recently published its latest report on pesticide residues in food in the European Union. The report provides a snapshot of the residue levels found in a selection of commonly consumed products based on analysis from 2022. The detailed results are available via the EFSA interactive data visualisation tool, enhanced year by year to make the data more accessible to non-specialists. EAS Group offers plant metabolism studies with radiolabelled test items at dedicated sites around the globe. Radiolabelling is necessary when new active ingredients are going through the registration process. The labelled active ingredient is applied in strictly controlled glasshouses to dedicated, confined areas on plants in line with the proposed use pattern and application. Discrimination testing is a technique employed in sensory analysis to determine whether there is a detectable difference between the product to be tested and a registered reference product according to NF EN ISO 4120. This is NOT a test for washing powder, but an operator exposure field experiment! After application, we take a sample of each part of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in order to analyse pesticide residue levels.
