We’ve wrapped up our first year of planting at our new Conifer Seedling Nursery. Our amazing team worked tirelessly sowing 6.1 million seeds. The seeds which were planted and kept in the greenhouses will be planted in the forest in 2025. 🌲 Orders for the 2025 sow season will be accepted soon. The nursery is located in Grenada, CA in Siskiyou County adjacent to our existing Seed Orchard in one of the best climates for conifer seedling production. The nursery specializes in the production of native conifer seedlings for reforestation, post-wildfire restoration, research, and conservation projects. The build out to the 25 million seedling capacity will take place over a few years and when complete, will almost double the number of seedlings currently produced in California.

This incredible honor is a testament of our dedication to safety and the hard work of our amazing crew. Oroville Division Manager Mike Vinum attributes this achievement to his crew saying, " To get this recognition, you have to have a culture, a buy-in by the crew to do the work to be successful. It’s the crew who deserves the credit for this great achievement." Achieving Star VPP status took eight years of rigorous work, including extensive employee training and numerous improvements to the work environment. Our Oroville Division sought to operate above and beyond the strictest Cal OSHA standards, always seeking ways to fine-tune and improve. We're proud of our team's commitment to safety and excellence. Last month, an Arbor Day event was hosted in Greenville, CA by The Dixie Fire Canopy Project. SPI donated around 3300 seedlings which were distributed to the areas residents with the help of student volunteers from Quincy High School. It was a great event bringing the community together in a spirt of resiliency. 🌱 🌲
