The Clyde Climate Forest was launched on 1 June 2021, involving The Conservation Volunteers and other leading environmental organisations (see the list below), plus the eight local authorities within the Glasgow City Region. The project is being delivered as part of the Glasgow & Clyde Valley Green Network. Over the next decade, ten trees for every man, woman and child will be planted. With a population of 1.8 million that means around 18 million trees will be planted, increasing woodland cover in the region from 17% to 20%...
The CCF Team will be at the Royal Highland Show this weekend, come along to the Forestry Arena to talk all things tree planting. With 1.8 million trees planted and counting, can you help us plant more? Mixed species/ ages natural forest silviculture & coppice forestry anyone? Traveling from my warming- & drought-affected, human- & deer-degraded Appalachian temperate hardwoods regeneration sites, through Chile's Valdivian progression between coastal & Andes ranges & hotter pronounced dry-wet plantation- & wildfire-impacted center & cool-wet south. Seems generally slower growing + decomposing. Finding coppice regeneration.

New Webinar Series! Forests are in the news—from wildfires to habitat and species loss to illegal logging, it seems that barely a week goes by that we don’t read or hear something alarming about our forests. And while concerns about our forest future are valid, emphasis on the negative to the exclusion of all other news can be overwhelming and overshadow all that is working in how we manage and conserve our forests. Join us for a new series of webinars during our Matching Gift campaign on Forest Optimism, as we focus on Forest Optimism as a way to tell the stories of what is working across the spectrum of forestry and related research, industry, land management and conservation efforts.
