In collaboration with Thomas Built Buses, Matthews entered the custom conversion business in 1992, rapidly earning a reputation for top-quality craftsmanship and reliability. This success led to Matthews becoming the exclusive manufacturer of custom specialty vehicles for Thomas Built Buses. After nearly a decade of an exclusive partnership, Matthews expanded its offerings to include conversions on various chassis platforms like Freightliner, Ford, Mercedes, and more. Today, Brad Matthews, son of founders Robert E. and Justine Matthews, serves as the owner and President, steering the company to become a premier global specialty vehicle manufacturer.
