Your Role In Our Team

  • Based at the CLAAS UK Headquarters at Saxham, we are looking for an experienced individual to be part of the delivery team for our land-based engineering programmes. We welcome applicants with a wide practical skillset and theoretical knowledge of engineering and a passion to transfer these skills to learners.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a related subject. Experience in working on a range of Agricultural and/or Plant Machinery is desirable, and candidates need to be confident they can deliver both practical and theory sessions to a range of learners. Previous teaching/training experience is not essential, however, being able to demonstrate training or development of staff in the industry would be advantageous. Knowledge and experience in machining and fabrication is also desirable.
  • Trainers are responsible for ensuring effective learning takes place in all sessions to provide learners with the maximum opportunity to succeed. The Academy values team working where staff work together in a supportive environment to provide the best learning experience for our learners.
  • Main Duties:
    • Plan, prepare, review and deliver learnership curriculum for land-based engineering technician standards.
    • Development of course material and resources for delivery, including blended learning materials.
    • To conduct teaching/learning activities appropriate to the needs of individual learners and the curriculum, while maintaining learners discipline.
    • To set, mark and record relevant coursework and assessments.
    • Attend regular reviews to discuss learners progress, health and safety and welfare issues.
    • To, at all times, maintain high expectations of learner’s work, commitment, and behavior, taking action to ensure the highest of standards are met.
    • To continuously evaluate and improve the quality of learning and teaching within your sessions utilising and engaging with the Academy’s development and observation programmes.
    • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of all learners and staff.
    • Actively support and promote equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion to ensure no learner is discriminated against.
    • To develop and update personal professional expertise in the relevant areas.
    • To undertake any other associated duties determined by the Academy.
Your Profile

  • Essential Skills & Knowledge
    • Recent and extensive on-the-job practical experience within the sector (Agriculture &/or Engineering)
    • Sound understanding of engineering practices.
    • Industry recognised qualifications – Level 3 minimum
    • GCSE, or equivalent, English & Maths grade 4 (formally grade C) or above.
    • Willing to apply for Disclosure and Barring Service clearance at Enhanced level
    • Ability and willingness to work flexibly
    • Weekend and Bank holiday rota for safeguarding duty
    • Current full driving licence
    • Willingness to travel around the UK for apprentice reviews.
    • Candidates need to be confident they can prepare and deliver both practical and theory sessions to a range of learners.
    • IT Literate
    • Ability to work under own initiative and develop strong links with our dealers
    • Excellent team player
    • Able to work under pressure to provide excellence in delivery.

    • Motivated to engage in continuous professional development, Product Technical knowledge.
    • Hours of Work According to the business requirements (Minimum 37.5 hours per week). This role does not attract an overtime rate.
