Thanks to the dedication of our nursing leaders, our Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is officially up and running after months of meticulous planning and development. The CDU provides a specialized space for our medical teams to assess patients who don't meet inpatient criteria but require further monitoring or treatment. With evidence-based care and a focus on patient experience, this observation unit is crucial to our surge plan, optimizing hospital resources during peak demand.

This Labor Day, we thank the Lord for our Associates and their strength, guidance, and perseverance to extend the healing ministry to the communities and people we serve. We wish everyone a blessed #LaborDay.

On August 23rd, we honor St. Rose’s Feast Day. Born in 1586 in Lima, Peru, St. Rose’s compassion led her to care for the needy and the ailing across Lima. In her later years, she extended her care to homeless children, the sick, and the elderly. Today, our ministry continues St. Rose’s legacy of healing in Jesus Christ’s spirit. We celebrated with a crowning ceremony and the gift of music provided by the choirs from Holy Cross of San Antonio & Antonian College Preparatory High School. https://lnkd.in/gbMddgJ2

Congratulations to the Center for Miracles for receiving the Level 1 Trauma-Informed Care certification from The Ecumenical Center. The Center for Miracles at CHRISTUS Children’s provides comprehensive assessments and evaluations for suspected child abuse or neglect. The Trauma-Informed Care practices will help to avoid retraumatizing the patients. We are proud of both of these organizations' work in diagnosing and treating trauma.
