Celebrating pioneers! Today, Mayor Whitmire officially proclaimed July 20, 2024, Intuitive Machines Day. This date also marks the historic moment in 1969 when Neil Armstrong first stepped onto the lunar surface during the Apollo 11 mission. Decades later, Houston Spaceport's first anchor tenant, Intuitive Machines, made history with its IM-1 mission, which returned to the lunar surface. This achievement highlights the crucial role private enterprises play in advancing space exploration. We're thrilled to celebrate this amazing honor with Intuitive Machines, and we're so grateful for the city council's support. We can't wait to see what the future holds for space exploration!

Fresh paint on the airport apron! Crews have started painting the markings on the Terminal D West Pier ramp at Bush Airport, which are essential for safe airport operations. We're making significant progress, and soon, we'll be able to see aircraft parked at our brand-new terminal!

Today, we said howdy 🤠 to Avelo Airlines! What better way to celebrate on a hot summer day than with a water arch to welcome the Houston-based airline that will offer nonstop flights twice a week from Hobby Airport to New Haven, Connecticut, known as the Pizza Capital of America 🍕
