About us
Established in 2003 by siblings Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman. While Marc, who studied commerce and engineering, has the business know-how, Camilla found her niche studying design at the WhiteHouse Institute of Design in Sydney. Upon graduation, she won a scholarship to attend the prestigious Accademia Italiana Arte Moda in Florence, Italy. This training not only stood her in good stead for planning ranges and structuring a collection, but it also deepened her passion for working with quality textiles and fine tuned her training for couturier techniques such as draping. The CAMILLA AND MARC philosophy centres around high-end design and construction that allows the wearer to shine through. CAMILLA AND MARC believe in great design that is transforming; striving to inspire the women to live creatively and richly. Timeless, modern and tailored with an unexpected edge, CAMILLA AND MARC represent a sophisticated sensibility that holds innovation at its heart. CAMILLA AND MARC is renowned for their statement making simplicity. With timeless tailored silhouettes consisting of rich fabrications, and easy femininity mixed with masculine tailoring and androgynous shapes the brand has long been loved for its effortlessly wearable wardrobe pieces. On World Ovarian Cancer Day, our head office was invited to take a personal tour of the UNSW Ovarian Cancer Research Group lab, to see first-hand the incredible work of the team on our early detection project for ovarian cancer. Professor Caroline Ford, Molecular biologist Dr Kristina Warton, and Research Assistant Teagan Fisher hosted the team through the lab, sharing key project updates and with the early detection test, which have only been made possible with the vital funding raised through our "Ovaries. Talk About Them. campaign." Our team left extremely inspired and proud to be part of this ground-breaking movement. Thank you to the wonderful team at UNSW Ovarian Cancer Research Group who are working tirelessly to make this test a reality for all women and people with ovaries. If you can, please donate to this world-first research, and help us change the face of women's health forever. https://lnkd.in/gEq7uDWh Our annual Ovaries. Talk About Them. campaign will launch later this year - stay tuned for updates.

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Day. There is still no test to detect ovarian cancer early, even though this is the deadliest female cancer. ‘Ovaries. Talk About Them.’ exists to change that. In honour of World Ovarian Cancer Day, it is our greatest joy to share that through our powerful and poignant campaigns we have raised a remarkable $1.7 million dollars in funding. 100% of the proceeds have gone directly to Professor Caroline Ford and her team at the Ovarian Cancer Research Group at UNSW to get the world's first DNA-based early detection test to clinical trials in the next 2 years. If you have ovaries, or if you come from ovaries, this disease affects you. Ovarian cancer is the ignored killer. This disease remains woefully underfunded and under-researched. If you can, please donate now, and help us change the face of women's health forever. https://lnkd.in/gEq7uDWh Our annual Ovaries. Talk About Them. campaign will launch later this year - stay tuned for updates. OVARIAN CANCER SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS: It is so important to be your own advocate, and know your body. In the absence of an early screening test, it is imperative that we know the symptoms associated with ovarian cancer. The 4 key symptoms of ovarian cancer are: - Increased abdominal size or persistent abdominal bloating - Abdominal or pelvic (lower tummy) pain - Feeling full after eating a small amount - Needing to urinate often or urgently The key point with ovarian cancer symptoms is that they generally persist over weeks, and do not fluctuate like many women might experience with their monthly cycle. The important thing is to notice any changes and seek medical advice if they continue.
