The ReWalk® Personal Exoskeleton offers patients with spinal cord injuries (SCI) a new level of independence with life-changing robotics. Use the ReWalk Personal Exoskeleton as part of a home-based functional ambulation program to elevate the health and quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injury.     This month, we proudly mark 10 years since the FDA first cleared the ReWalk Exoskeleton for personal use at home and in the community, and over 20 years of exoskeleton development. Over the years, we've helped hundreds of people with spinal cord injuries around the world to take their next steps and walk again, fulfilling our mission at Lifeward to relentlessly drive innovation to change the lives of people with physical limitations or disabilities. We are committed to delivering groundbreaking solutions that empower individuals to do what they love.   • 🎉 20 Years in the Making: Celebrating the ReWalk Personal Exoskeleton 🎉 From our first steps to a monumental milestone, join us as we reflect on two decades of innovation and dedication: 📆 2004: Our first working prototype was developed in pursuit of our vision to transform mobility for individuals with physical limitations. 📆 2007: ReWalk makes its Hollywood debut with a prototype appearing on an episode of the show “Glee”. 📆 2011/2012: The ReWalk Exoskeleton is available for commercial sale in Europe and rehabilitation use in the US, offering newfound options for individuals with SCI 📆 2014: A historic year as the FDA granted clearance for personal use of the ReWalk Exoskeleton, enabling ReWalkers to continue to experience the benefits of walking at home and in the community. 📆 2015: The ReWalk 6.0 Personal Exoskeleton was launched, with an updated design to improve comfort and wearability. 📆 2020-2023: Continued progress with Medicare to establish necessary elements for reimbursement of Personal Exoskeletons 📆 2023: The ReWalk Personal Exoskeleton receives FDA clearance for use on stairs and curbs, expanding access to more real-world environments. 📆 2024: A groundbreaking moment as Medicare finalizes reimbursement for the ReWalk Personal Exoskeleton, helping more people than ever to benefit from our technology.     Explore the journey to personal ownership of the ReWalk Personal Exoskeleton! Here's the pathway for healthcare professionals to guide their patients through each step of the process. 1) Identify a Potential Candidate: identify patients within your practice who may benefit from functional ambulation. 2) Initiate Screening: Have the patient visit https://lnkd.in/gg9PsdCX to initiate the process with Lifeward. 3) Evaluate Medical Eligibility: Lifeward team members will assist in evaluating the individual's suitability for a ReWalk Personal Exoskeleton based on medical criteria. 4) Trial with Lifeward Clinical Team: Lifeward experts work with the local physical therapist to trial the patient in a ReWalk device. 5) Train with a Local Physical Therapist: Specialized training for the patient and their companion(s) to ensure safe and effective use in daily life. 6) Home and Community Use: Once trained, the individual can use the exoskeleton at home and in the community.
