Strategy and Corporate Development Analyst

The Strategy and Corporate Development Analyst will report directly to the SVP, Strategic and Corporate Development. The analyst will be responsible for internal and external business analysis, market trends analysis, competitive market analysis, opportunity assessment, and strategic planning. The analyst will also be responsible for producing internal and external-facing content that captures high-priority corporate messaging and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing business case presentation materials for potential investment opportunities to be presented to the Executive Committee.
  • Support market, competitor, and trends research to support strategic decisions on potential opportunities.
  • Gather research and information from key internal stakeholders to support the execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in the analysis and preparation of materials for strategic planning meetings and any other strategy-related meetings.
  • Monitor consumer, competitive and macroeconomic trends related to the company’s operating environment.
  • Assist in analysis and preparation of materials for Board of Directors and Committee Meetings, Townhall Meetings, meetings with investors, meetings with brokers, meetings with reinsurance partners, and press releases.


Qualifications

  • Prior experience 1-2 years at a management consulting firm, investment bank, or similar experience at a Specialty P&C carrier in a strategic/operational setting with a record of outstanding performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or in another quantitative field is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative skills with proven ability to communicate complex findings in a way that drives business decision-making.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, performance-focused environments, and a proactive mindset towards solving problems. Ability to operate with a high degree of ambiguity and reach the right outcome.
  • Experience operating as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-oriented, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and expeditiously. Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Expert in PowerPoint with proven ability to build effective presentations for management consumption.
  • Experience building excel-based models is preferred.
  • Property and Casualty insurance experience preferred.


Coaction is required by New York City law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a New York City resident. Salary range specific to for this role : $60,000-$90,000 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
