Site Civil Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to manage various aspects of civil engineering projects including land planning and drainage analysis. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in civil engineering, exceptional project management skills, a passion for delivering high-quality results and commitment to fostering personal and professional growth. Moreover, it is vital to have experience in Hydraulics & Hydrology, quality control on construction sites, team leadership, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Management: Oversee the project lifecycle from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards. (move this priority down the list?)

2. Design and Analysis: Utilize engineering software such as HEC-RAS/HEC/HMS, CivilGeo and Civil3d, tools to design and analyze civil engineering projects relating to Land and Site Development Sub-sectors.

3. Site Inspections: Conduct site visits to assess project progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.

4. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities, resolve design conflicts, and address any technical concerns.

5. Permitting and Compliance: Obtain necessary permits in a timely and efficient manner and gain approvals from regulatory authorities to ensure that projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

6. Documentation: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, drawings, and specifications detailing project requirements, calculations, and recommendations.

7. Problem Solving: Identify challenges and propose innovative solutions to optimize project efficiency, minimize risks, and enhance overall performance.

8. Quality Assurance: Foster a culture of safety and quality on all projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.

9. Client Relations: Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide updates on project progress.

10. Leadership: Provide strong leadership and team management, ensuring the development and motivation of junior engineers and other team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field

2. Must have Professional Engineering (PE) license and 3 to 5 years of work experience with license.

3. Demonstrated skills in design, project management, and general quality control for civil engineering projects and construction sites.

4. Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, CivilGeo and/or similar tools.

5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and sales abilities.

7. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

8. Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.

9. Experience in Hydraulics & Hydrology sub-sectors and erosion control management.

10. Strong leadership and team management (mentorship) skills.
