We are representing a leading company in the telecommunications industry seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team in Elkridge, MD. This full-time, direct hire position offers an excellent opportunity to lead and mentor a talented engineering team while contributing to innovative projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Provide managerial direction and supervision to regional department operations, ensuring client needs are met and company objectives are achieved.
Projects: Work on existing sites and new site builds
Mentorship: Develop and mentor project structural engineering leads and future managers, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
Expertise: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in structural engineering for cross-functional projects, offering guidance and training to junior engineers.
Quality Assurance: Oversee and implement QA/QC procedures on all engineering deliverables, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Project Management: Manage structural engineering tasks and projects, including budget and profit & loss management for the regional team.
Hiring and Training: Strategically hire and train staff to meet departmental goals and objectives.
Required Skills:
EIT Certification: Essential for the role.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in engineering (telecom exp is a huge plus)
Travel: Willingness to travel and conduct structural investigation visits.
Site Inspection: Proven experience in site structural inspection work.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in structural engineering software such as RISA 3D, Enercalc, tnxTower, AutoCAD, and Mathcad.
Technical Knowledge: Extensive technical expertise in civil, structural, and geotechnical principles, including relevant design guides and standards. Roof top design, foundational design, steel, and concrete exp are needed.
Preferred Skills:
Awareness of industry and technology trends in the telecommunications industry.
Familiarity with construction practices and principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Possession of a PE license is a plus
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with a focus on Steel, Concrete, and Structural Analysis.
Office Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
