About the role

The Senior Financial Controller is responsible for analyzing risks and economic trends to guide the business. This role involves measurement, planning, and forecasting of activities and their implications on the income statement and balance sheet. Additionally, the position requires developing, interpreting, and implementing financial and accounting concepts/techniques for financial planning and control. The Senior Financial Controller will monitor the financial position of our three US entities.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Partner

• Collaborate closely with the President of the Business Unit to provide clarity on all financial matters, facilitating appropriate decision-making.
• Act as the key contact for Headquarters to comment on and explain the financial performance of the region.
• Contribute to the development of a financial/internal control culture within the brands.

Finance activities and coordination

• Work closely with operational sales and marketing managers to develop excellent knowledge of the business units’ operating environments, including market size, industry trends, competitors, brands, margins, retail outlets, and advertising spend.
• Support Marketing and Sales Teams in preparing P&L projections for promotions and launches, analyze the financial viability of new openings, and follow up on the marketing budget.
• Measure, plan, and forecast marketing activities and their implications for the income statement and balance sheet.
• Provide a monthly rolling forecast to the Headquarters to better anticipate production and sales achievements of US entities.
• Consolidate sell-out reports for the US territory and provide performance analysis to management (Performance/Ranking/Market share).
• Collaborate closely with the President on Financial Strategic Planning, including the 3-Year Plan, Budget, and revised Budget.
• Review the purchase cycle/stock and analyze cash flow weekly, providing corrective actions if necessary.
• Prepare analysis and recommendations on monthly financial figures compared to the budget and last year’s figures, issuing reports as required by management.
• Prepare and monitor the administrative/office budgets, including payroll (Headcounts & Sales Team on Shop Floor).
• Develop and improve internal processes (AR, AP, Purchase Orders, Travel & Expenses booking and controlling, dispatch of testers).
• Manage outsourced activities such as accounting and sales administration.
• Coordinate legal and US tax matters with our local experts.

Project Analysis

• Provide analytical support for various treasury or cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc projects.
• Actively participate in ERP trainings and the use of reporting and consolidation tools.

Desired Background and Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of successful professional experience in FP&A/Audit
• Previous experience in the perfumes and/or luxury industry is a strong advantage
