Clayton Services is searching for a Production Scheduler to join a thriving company in Southeast Houston. The Production Scheduler will be responsible for creating and upholding a production schedule that fulfills customer requirements while enhancing efficiency and resource allocation.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $27.00 - $28.00/hour

Production Scheduler Responsibilities:
  • Develop and communicate feasible and optimal production schedules based on material and labor availability.
  • Collaborate with relevant parties to maintain schedules and communicate changes as necessary.
  • Adjust production schedules to meet customer orders, stock level requirements, and urgent orders prioritized by sales and customer service.
  • Schedule and forecast production material usage to maintain optimal production levels.
  • Create effective partnerships with plant leadership and line leads to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Coordinate with floor personnel to address material issues and streamline schedule changes to minimize setup times.
  • Analyze manufacturing capacity constraints and their impact on the master production plan.
  • Provide order status information to customer service.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to reduce inventory, prevent stock-outs, and enhance schedule accuracy.
  • Manage company backlog reports and alert production and procurement teams to risks and potential delays.
  • Provide customers with weekly manufacturing lead time reports and implement corrective actions for shop lead time deviations.
  • Monitor production KPIs and ensure schedule attainment reports are available for the production team every week.
  • Perform any other assigned duties as needed.
Production Scheduler Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling principles is essential, along with skill in resource management and collaboration with stakeholders to meet customer needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize, and execute against multiple priorities.
  • Ability to present information and reports to the management team.
  • Demonstrates excellent follow-up skills.
  • Problem-solving and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Proficient in ERP systems - knowledge of Epicor Vantage is a plus.

Production Scheduler Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Associate's degree is preferred.
  • 3+ years of production scheduling experience.
