Natural Resources Specialist I - Austin, TX

Job Summary

Reviews and evaluates Public Water Systems ( PWS ) data related to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality ( TCEQ ) financial, managerial, and technical viability and emergency preparedness

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with databases and reviewing technical documents.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate a water systems capacity for financial, managerial, and technical development and resiliency and track database for status report maintenance.
  • Provide related assistance to city and county officials; water system owners, operators, engineers, and lawyers; agency staff; other governmental entities and the general public.
  • Review data submitted by PWSs.
  • Assist systems with emergent issues and determine/initiate appropriate follow-up.
  • Work with the team to create/review/revise documents such as, but not limited to, reports, correspondence, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
