At this phase, Hyde Development is seeking an experienced commercial real estate professional to serve as a Managing Director to help drive new, scalable, and sustainable growth while straying true to the values and relationships that set Hyde apart. The Managing Director will report directly to the CEO, Paul Hyde, and collaborate with Hyde’s stellar team members. This role is based in Minneapolis, MN and requires travel.


Key Responsibilities

Growth: Expand Business in Existing and New Markets

  • Market Expansion: Drive business growth in Minneapolis, Denver, Fargo, and new markets through development and acquisition.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with capital partners and the CEO to identify and exploit new market opportunities.
  • Development & Acquisition: Lead efforts to grow the business through both development projects and strategic acquisitions.

Portfolio Strategy: Develop and Implement Portfolio Strategy

  • Portfolio Assessment: Evaluate the current portfolio and identify new development and acquisition opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning: Work with the CEO to develop and implement strategies for portfolio growth and management.

Relationships: Grow Network in Key Markets

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, cities, banks, and investors.
  • Networking: Engage actively in relationship-building activities, including industry events and leadership forums.
  • Relationship Strategy: Collaborate with the CEO to develop plans for nurturing existing relationships and cultivating new ones.

People Leadership: Lead Market Leaders in Development

  • Supervision: Oversee market leaders in key locations, providing guidance and support.
  • Delegation: Delegate tasks effectively to Market Managers, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Reporting Systems: Develop robust reporting and approval systems for deals, coordinating with the CEO and capital partners.
  • Professional Growth: Foster the professional development of market leaders, ensuring their growth aligns with company goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in commercial real estate industry
  • Senior-level managerial experience running a team of employees
  • Experience working for an owner/developer of real estate
  • Strong people leadership skills and business acumen
  • Ability to excel in high-pressure situations
  • Travel up to 20% annually
