Duties

  • You will serve as the Condition Based Maintenance/Reliability Center Maintenance (CBM/RCM) Project Manager and Independent Logistics Assessment (ILA) lead for the Maintenance Engineering Department (SEA09M) in NAVSEA.
  • You will assist the Maintenance Engineering Director, within the Safety and Regulatory Compliance Directorate, serving as the recognized CBM/RCM/ILA subject matter expert.
  • You will apply advanced concepts, principles, and processes for life-cycle maintenance management of various systems, subsystems, equipment, and procedures.
  • You will ensure the Capability Development Document (CDD) requirements for availability, reliability, sustainment, operations support cost, training and manpower are met.
  • You will ensure development and implementation of derived requirements that support the CDD are included in ship specifications, contracts, and product support strategies.
  • You will manage, monitor, evaluate and coordinate the execution of Integrated Product Support (IPS) continuously evaluate progress and program objectives.
  • You will ensure all program requirements have proper product support for relevant system, system-of-systems, and shipbuilding have support throughout their life cycle.
  • You will develop, justify, and execute the product support budget for product support programs as well as working any programmatic issues.
  • You will provide advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on a wide range of product support issues to ensure all decisions comply with policy, guidance, regulatory directives and statutory law.
  • You will establish and maintain liaison with all activities, organizations and commands directly involved with the introduction, maintenance, and support of systems.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning or managing logistics product support and analyzing program data to ensure regulatory compliance and process improvement for life-cycle maintenance management of various systems, subsystems, equipment, or procedures.

This announcement uses the Acquisition Demonstration Project Business & Technical Management direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-04 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.

This position has a control point; thus the salary range may be capped at GS-15, step 05, which is equivalent to $185,824. If you're current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
