We may have the role for you have been waiting for!


Our client is a highly specialized, Denver local Engineering firm with an excellent reputation specifically in Dam, Reservoir, and Levee Engineering. They are looking to grow their ~30 person team by 2-3 engineers this year. Their team is made up of many other folks like you who have come from GeoTechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydraulic / Hydrologic Engineering, and Civil Engineering, which many others like you found to offer all the right roots, but a much better day-to-day and long term challenge for their skill set. To be clear our client does NOT require experience with Dams, Reservoirs, or Levee's (though if you do have any experience there, that would be amazing!) If hired you would work on multi-disciplinary dam, reservoir, and levee planning, design, and construction projects. You day-to-day could vary quite a bit, but typical work tasks will likely include some of the following:


  • hydraulic, geotechnical, and structural analyses for dams and levees
  • seismic, settlement, slope stability, and seepage analyses
  • design of embankment dams and hydraulic structures.
  • watershed evaluations
  • dam breach modeling
  • design of spillways, outlet works, and other hydraulic structures
  • inspections of dams, levees, and hydraulic structures


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering Degree with a 3.5+ GPA
  • Successful completion of the EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 2 to 6 years of work experience in civil engineering, geotechnical or geologic engineering, water resources, hydraulics and hydrology OR a related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel on temporary assignments as needed


NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED):

  • M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (3.5+ GPA)
  • 1 to 3 years of work experience working with dams, levees, or hydraulic structures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with AutoCAD and
  • Experience with stormwater, floodplane and/or watershed
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and hydrologic design and/or modeling
  • Familiarity with geotechnical design and/or modeling
  • Familiarity with ANY of the following software HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS, GeoStudio, HoleBase
  • Experience with performing field investigation programs is preferred, but not required.



COMPENSATION / BENEFITS

  • Target salary: (non-Dam experience, 2-5 years) — $80k - $110k salary target
  • Target salary: (with Dam experience, 4+ years) — $110k - $130k+ salary target
  • Bonus: Typically between $3K - $5K range for Junior staff.
  • Profit Sharing: The company provides yearly profit-sharing incentives, which has historically ranged from 6-11% (vesting over 6 years)
  • PTO: New Employees start with 4 weeks (160 hours) of PTO and 6 paid holidays
  • Remote work: Employees are offered flexible work schedules, including the chance to work remotely every Friday and up to 2 weeks (80 hours) additionally.
  • Other Benefits: The company offers fairly standard 401K, health insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, competitive with others in the industry. You will also be offered a $2k bonus for passing your licensure exam.
