Overview:

Our client is a leader in customized packaging, print, and display solutions, with a global reach and an outstanding work culture. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our client's Design team as a Display Design Engineer - Point of Purchase (POP). This is a new, full-time role, added to support business growth and reports to the Design Director. In this role you will be responsible for planning, designing, and developing innovative product displays and merchandising solutions for our customers that are both cost effective and structurally sound. You will play a crucial role in balancing aesthetics, engineering, and practicality to create visually appealing and functional retail displays that enhance the customer experience.


Role responsibilities:


Create Display designs that incorporate engineered, efficient, and best practice methods for creating retail displays. Produce detailed design drawings and specifications using SOLIDWORKS. Create assembly and installation drawings for production and clients.


Research and specify the materials to be used in the displays. Determine the appropriate tools, equipment, and supplies needed for production.


Manage large or complex custom POP display (permanent, semi-permanent, or temporary) and merchandising projects to ensure on-time completion. Work under the guidance of the Design Director who will assign projects and suggest revisions.


Interact with internal and external customers regarding the scope of projects and collaborate with sales, suppliers, design teams, and client marketing teams on the following:

  • Work closely with the sales and marketing team in designing a variety of custom display solutions for customers. Think outside the box in providing solutions.
  • Create quick-turn photorealistic concept renderings/ illustrations using SolidWorks.
  • Produce detailed engineering specifications on a part level, for quote or production.
  • Coordinate projects with sales and suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Manage lead times in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to multi-task.
  • Assist with Graphic design as needed.


Qualifications:


Role Requirements

You must meet the following qualifications to be considered for this role:


  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) in Industrial Design, Packaging Design, or related fields.
  • Over 5 years’ experience in designing and delivering POP displays and merchandising solutions in large retail environments, in collaboration with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in a variety of materials including plastics, acrylic, metal, wood, glass, paper, and eco-friendly materials.
  • Proficient in SOLIDWORKS, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Experience in 3D printing and/or ArtiosCAD is a plus.
  • Full lifecycle design project management experience and successful track record.
