Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery

Chief Executive Officer

About Us:

Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of subspecialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, sports medicine, physiatry, hand therapy, and physical therapy.

We are proud to be the team physicians for the Portland Trail Blazers, the Portland Winterhawks and several collegiate teams. This year, we are celebrating 55 years of service to our patients and the community.

We are an established and growing physician-owned practice consisting of 22 fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons, 7 neurosurgeons, 6 physiatrists, and 2 primary care sports medicine physicians. We have four surgeons specializing in hip and knee arthroplasty. We have a full complement of PAs and NPs. We have in-house physical therapy in multiple locations in Oregon and Washington employing 29 Physical Therapists. We have our own hand therapy practice, employing 5 hand therapists to support our hand surgeons. We operate 2 full body MRI scanners, and one extremity CT scanner.

We work out of PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center, Legacy Salmon Creek and Southwest Washington Regional Surgery Center--an 8-room outpatient surgery center that we own and operate. All our locations have well-established and comprehensive joint replacement programs. We started an outpatient total joint program five years ago and have an outstanding record for safety and efficiency.

Our joint replacement practice is very busy with primary and revision cases and we anticipate that there will be no shortage of patients needing primary and revision surgery. We are a collaborative practice and assistance and support for complex cases both in the office and in the operating room will be available.

Rebound is headquartered in Southwest Washington just across the river from Portland, Oregon and all our clinics are a short drive to beaches or mountains with endless options for outdoor recreation. Hiking trails, parks, excellent schools, arts and culture, breweries and vineyards, fine dining and food carts are abundant in our region.

About you:

You are a mid-career professional medical group executive who delights in solving business problems and relating to private practice specialists. Ideally you have experience in managing orthopedics practices and ASCs, with a good head for marketing and a passing knowledge of IT. You balance, somehow, patient care imperatives, physician preferences, and profitability for owners. You are seen as a staff champion. You have experienced the pressure coming from an aging population and a declining payor mix, and have developed a fund of ideas for increasing Commercial mix, growing ancillaries, and reducing overhead. You have gone toe to toe with payor contractors and retained diplomatic relations afterwards. You are innately curious, and seek out peers and research to help understand health care industry and regulatory trends, and you apply what you’ve learned. You like data. You have lived through mistakes, and you have a pretty good sense of humor.
