Certified Pharmacy Technician

Overview: This position is accountable to work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department in order to provide quality safe patient care in a designated setting. Responsibilities

Assists in orientation and training of new employees/students.

Maintains workflow, including inventory and triaging phone calls.

Operates Pharmacy systems technology and automation.

Prepares, distributes and disposes of medications in compliance with current standards of practice under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.

Records patient medication histories.

EDUCATION:Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Pharmacy technician diploma or enrolled in a pharmacy technician program

EXPERIENCE:Preferred: Pharmacy technician experience is preferred and hospital pharmacy technician experience is highly preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED:

• Pharmacy technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire
• Registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire
