The Maricopa County Department of Transportation has reopened part of the new Gilbert Road Bridge in time to accommodate Mesa, Arizona's Independence Day traffic. The bridge, built by Archer Western, will provide two lanes between Mesa and SR-87 over the Salt River. One lane in each direction is now open for drivers. Construction work will continue on the second half of the bridge as traffic moves across the completed portion. The $50.3 million bridge replaces an existing two-lane structure and low water crossing which had become flooded during high water flows in the Salt River. https://lnkd.in/g42S2Geg
