Frazier & Deeter Impact Day 2024 is here! We had a great morning volunteering downtown with Trees Atlanta 🌳
Founded in 1985 by Central Atlanta Progress, the Junior League of Atlanta, Inc. and the Atlanta Parks Commissioner, Trees Atlanta has been a prime force in addressing Atlanta's tree loss, creating increased green space, and conserving the city's trees. Since its beginnings, the primary goals of Trees Atlanta have been to replace trees lost to development, conserve existing trees, protect green space areas, and educate the community’s residents and workers about the many benefits of trees. These actions have resulted in Trees Atlanta becoming one of the most widely known non-profits throughout metro-Atlanta and a highly regarded community steward of our urban environment.

Yesterday, I had a fantastic time volunteering with Trees Atlanta and their Youth Tree Team! It's inspiring to see high school students dedicating their summer to hands-on projects and career readiness workshops. Alongside Andrew Sommerman, CAPM, Regina E., and Hilary Moskowitz, we had the opportunity to discuss resume essentials and starting tips with the group. It was so fun learning about their aspirations and assisting them in creating resumes they are proud of. Witnessing their community work and future goals was truly remarkable. The future looks incredibly bright for these young individuals ☀ Thank you, Trees Atlanta, for having us! 🌲

I bike the Northeast Trail of the Atlanta BeltLine pretty often and, without fail, the Trees Atlanta folks are always working their booties off to keep Atlanta's greenspaces looking 💯. Never once have I seen anyone just sitting around, and they all take the time to smile and say hello. I got to talk to Kenadi this morning and told her how much everyone appreciates what they do - she couldn't have been nicer and truly seemed happy to represent this fantastic company. So proud to have them as a client and see the amazing things they are doing for our city!
Earlier this week, our Youth Tree Team got all dressed up to spend an exciting and educational day at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta! During their visit, YTT students learned about: 📈 The FRB’s role in the economy and fiscal policy 💰 How interest rates affect purchasing power ⚠️ The dangers of hyperinflation 💵 The history of money The Atlanta FRB also shared important information about entrepreneurship, including: 👥 Key skills for success 📊 Risks involved in starting a business 🛡️ The importance of insurance They also got the chance to sit at the FRB boardroom table! Thank you Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta for introducing these students to the FRB’s important role in our economy and sharing knowledge about entrepreneurship with these young learners. #AtlFedEconEd

#tacticaltuesday with Trees Atlanta’s YTT2024 cohort was one for the memory books. As a 36 year banker, focused on economic mobility, through financial literacy, homeownership, small business growth, and wealth building, it was a privilege to engage the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta team led by Princeton Williams, and arranged by Community Sustainability Enterprise long time FRB ATL colleague, Amy Hennessey. The FRB was my former bank’s regulator, so our history of reaching and teaching financial literacy goes back a decade+. We took student learning to another level this year! Yesterday’s experience gripped their attention and caused them to lean in as Princeton and his team facilitated presentations on the FRB ATL history, currency, economic policy, credit, lending, entrepreneurship, and opportunity costs. Our YTT2024 cohort had the opportunity to sit at the FRB board room table. Access creates Exposure, and then Experiences become a natural by product. I witnessed this group of talented young people believe they have a seat at the table. When you see people who look like you, (Raphael Bostic) pioneering and leading the way, you pursue your dreams a lot harder and with dogged determination. Thank you to our Financial Sponsor and Entrepreneurship facilitators, team BankSouth, and @Esco Hill of @Esco Eats for making the learning experiences relevant and easy to comprehend. This is how we do it at CSE, with our partners who facilitate extraordinary learning experiences, while holding our YTT2024 youth highly accountable. Let’s see who finished their homework and saved $450 this summer🤑 #YTT2024 #financialfreedom #youthfinancialliteracy #youthworkforcedevelopment #FRBATL2024 #economics #PartnershipsMatter #onemoreweek #BoardroomChronicles Trees Atlanta Dana Render, M.S.Ed., SHRM-CP Eric Blumenschein Princeton Williams Amy Hennessy Monique Gabriel Esco 🌎🍏🥧 Anita Lamb

Northwest Trail - Segment 5 is officially under construction! Thank you to everyone who braved the heat this morning to join us in celebrating the start of work on this 0.7-mile section of trail. The groundbreaking of this segment is especially exciting as it will provide Atlantans with regional trail connection to both the Chattahoochee River and the Silver Comet Trail, which goes all the way to Alabama. It wouldn't have been possible without the support of our incredible partners including City of Atlanta, Fulton County Government, Atlanta Public Schools, Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation, City of Atlanta Department of Transportation, City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management, City of Atlanta Department of City Planning, Georgia Department of Transportation, Invest Atlanta, PATH Foundation, Trees Atlanta, Kaizen Collaborative Design Inc., Astra Group, LLC., Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, the Robert Woodruff Foundation, the James M. Cox Foundation, and more.
We ramp up tree care and forest restoration work in warmer months. Join us for an upcoming project! https://lnkd.in/egQ-Jtj4 🌳🌳🌳
It’s growing season for invasive vines! Trees Atlanta’s Forest Restoration team is working hard to remove deciduous invasive vine species such as Wisteria sinensis (Chinese wisteria) and Pueraria montana (kudzu) all across Atlanta and the City of East Point! Invasive vines such as wisteria and kudzu need at least 3 years of professional removal to get it under control.. after that we consider it to be at a nuisance level (site dependent). The site is usually ready to start planting native species at that point although the native seed bank may have already started to regenerate itself! Check out this before and after of wisteria removal at the Connally Family Cemetery located in East Point. The work is far from over but this is a great start! Come volunteer with us! Proud of this team is an understatement. 🌳💚💪🏼 Photo credit: Savannah Tello
