About us

The Maryland Association of Community Colleges (MACC) is an advocate for the state’s community colleges and the educational needs of the students they serve. Maryland's 16 community colleges educate 50% of all the undergraduate students in the state of Maryland every year. Annually, at our 23 campuses and 1000+ learning sites, 500,000 students pursue diverse education and career training curriculums. Our students, who range in age from high school to senior citizens, can pursue academic degrees, over 130 certifications in career and technical training, and a wealth of programs that develop and refresh career and life skills. Community college programs are designed for both full and part-time students and offer online learning opportunities, state-of-the-art facilities, and professional and adjunct teaching staff. Key partners in local economic development, community colleges provide the training and education necessary to maintain a skilled workforce attractive to new businesses. Maryland's community colleges can also deliver customized training designed to meet immediate needs of local employers.
