🛰 Go, VanZyl-1, go! 🚀 We, at Hydrosat, are incredibly proud to announce the upcoming launch of our first satellite, VanZyl-1, early July on SpaceX’s Transporter 11, from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Working to accelerate the delivery of global high-resolution thermal imaging technology and provide a critical daily dataset to further enhance agricultural and climate models, the satellite will include high-resolution thermal imagery and insights spanning the entire earth - including land and water for the first time. 🌍 Named after one of our co-founders, Jakob van Zyl, who sadly passed away in 2020, the satellite follows in Jakob’s footsteps to better understand global water stress, particularly in agriculture, which is often caused by drought and insufficient irrigation. Hydrosat's own Wim Bastiaanssen continues to travel the world 🌏 to help countries preserve water💧 🇮🇳 We are thrilled to be working closely with India helping farmers, growers, and institutions mitigate the impacts of climate change and grow more food with less water. We're partnering with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) on projects to improve our remote sensing technology and provide useful data through the HIROS and RESTART projects. We're also teaming up with companies like Erde Agro Ecosystems Pvt Ltd and Saisanket Industries Pvt Ltd to improve irrigation using smart technologies. Hydrosat supports both the National and State Governments in improving irrigation systems. Since there aren't enough measurements of water flow in canals, we use remote sensing to understand how efficiently water is used in irrigation. 🌾 All our services are powered by Hydrosat's advanced energy and water balance data, helping India achieve better water management and agricultural productivity.
