Your Role In Our Team

  • CLAAS, a family business, is the European market leader in the sector of agricultural machinery who delivers to the markets its award-winning products through a strong dealer network. Uniquely CLAAS own and manage a number of dealers who collectively are branded as CLAAS Global Retail which has a combined turnover of €1.3 billion, has 1500 employees and operates across 6 countries.
  • In the UK there are three legal entities with a combined sales in excess of £200m, employing 300 members of staff across its 18 location which stretches from mid Yorkshire in the North to Dorchester in the South. This key and exciting role is based at the UK central headquarters at Saxham, Bury St Edmunds and forms part of the central service team who provide various services to the local teams but also requires a level of onsite support and financial guidance at the Retail sites.
  • The role reports directly to the CFO of CLAAS Global Retail but will also be supported by Head of Business Administration, Senior Accounting Manager and the Vice President UK Retail.
  • The Senior Retail Analyst/Controller will:
    • work closely with the directors and managers of the dealerships
    • support and guide the retail business from a finance viewpoint including strategy development and execution
    • member of the local Retail Management Teams
    • be fully responsible for budget and forecast preparation and presentation
    • analyse and report on the current financial status of the dealerships
    • continually improve accounting and reporting
    • be involved/lead projects and other ad hoc tasks when required
    • protect the interest of CLAAS UK as the shareholder
    • maintain the integrity of the financial reporting
    • support the wider finance team and help when required
Your Profile

  • Essential Skills & Knowledge:
    • Part or fully qualified chartered accountant.
    • Experience of delivering practical financial analysis.
    • A proven track record to demonstrate excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
    • The ability to communicate to staff at all levels within the retail dealerships and CLAAS UK.
    • Able to challenge when required.
    • Retail experience preferred but not mandatory.
    • Strong IT skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP), Experience with Micsosoft Dyamics 365 desirable, but not mandatory.
    • Ability to manage complex Excel models.
    • Must be able to work well with a team and be a good listener.
    • A full UK driving licence for travel to the various retail sites.
    • Hours of Work: According to the business requirements (Minimum 37.5 hours per week). This role does not attract an overtime rate.
