Walk for Prostate! Our very own superhero, Paul Dennington, laced up his walking shoes raising awareness for those battling prostate cancer, one step at a time. And who was there to cheer him on? Our spirited TPS Hempstead Team, joined Paul at 10am with smiles and high-fives ready! Paul took strides across the country, completing an amazing 42.7 miles. Yes, there were blisters, but oh, it was worth it! Together they managed to raise a whopping £1,591 for prostate cancer research, with our TPS champs chipping in £430. It was a day of laughter but most of all, it was a day of pride. Celebrating a decade at TPS! Today we celebrate the amazing Maria from our Buchanan Store as she marks her 10-year milestone at TPS. Starting as a Sales Advisor at our Metro 1 store, Maria moved to Glasgow after she got married 2 years ago and is now based currently at Buchanan proving to be an absolute rock for her Store Manager and her teammates. Area Manager, Emma Bell surprised Maria with a big bunch of flowers, a card, her 10-year length of service badge, and a voucher to spend! Emma says “Maria what an achievement! This week we had our Half-Year Anchor Day run by our Sales & Operations Team. Anchor Days are always a big day for us, but this one was extra special as the Warehouse Team and the Sales & Ops Team joining our ScentQuarters teams in High Wycombe for the day. With so many people attending, we held the event at the Crowne Plaza. Our day was kicked off with our Sales & Ops fundraising for some of our wonderful charity partners Alzheimer's Research UK, Look Good Feel Better UK and Operation Smile. The activities were lively, the Perfume Pong was particularly popular! Paul Benbow (Perfume_Paul) and the team from Coty led a session introducing us to the latest Daisy in their Garden: Daisy Wild. Paul filled the room with the spirit of adventure and got everyone up and moving with some friendly competition. Our MD, Gill S. then took the lead, sharing our half-year numbers and news, before celebrating our people for their achievements. We recognised our people who had a Length of service milestones, those who’d been promoted, our new experts who had passed their Fragrance Foundation qualifications and those who we voted for by our people for embodying our values. We even took a moment to give a big welcome our new starters. The Sales & Ops team helped us get to know them with a quiz filled with fun facts about themselves. They also tested our Directors' skills with a wrapping challenge. The competition was fierce but our People and Development Director, Michelle Fellows took the Wrapping crown. After a delicious lunch, the day was finished off with Sports Day run by our Social Committee (SoCo). The events were more like the ones we played in school rather than the Olympics which only added to the fun and giggles. Our people are really competitive and it showed, the space hopper race was particularly a riot of laughs! The Cheer Squads looked fantastic, dressed in their team colours. Their chants rang out over the room, the classic British summer weather made us take the fun indoors. Congratulations to the Purple Team (Team Finance) who won the TPS cup for the second year running. The other teams will be raring to take the crown next year! Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a core value that drives our business forward. Through our Planet, People and Product pillars we are also working hard to make TPS sustainable. But in the fast-paced world of retail it’s important to take time to smell the roses and appreciate all the amazing things we’ve done with our Perfume People. This is why we send out a quarterly sustainability newsletter: The Feel Good Edit. As we wrap up Q2, we are thrilled that our latest issue of the Feel Good Edit is now live, and it’s all about sustainability wins from our second quarter of the year. This issue introduced our new Sustainability Champions and their experience at Togetherfest in May. Some exciting new uses we are finding for recycled glass perfume bottles (more on this soon). We celebrated the brilliant fundraising our teams have been doing for our charity partners and Vera Surprising and Delighting the carers and patients at Ridley Manor care home. It’s amazing to see how much we’ve done in just three months!
