Hospitality

Specialist conference, training, meeting, exhibition and event venues in London, Birmingham, Manchester and New York.

About us

etc.venues is part of the Convene portfolio of brands. The company was founded in 1992 by Sally Wilton. After working as a corporate trainer, Wilton saw an opportunity to reimagine what she saw as poorly-serviced, old fashioned training venues. She opened the first etc.venues location at Avonmouth House, South London as a purpose-built venue built with the end users in mind. In 2006, after nearly 15 years of successfully delivering best-in-class training and event experiences, the company drew the attention of a private equity firm that led to further investments into the etc.venues business, ultimately growing its footprint across London and into Manchester, Birmingham, and New York City. In February 2023, etc.venues was acquired by Convene, a global hospitality company that designs and manages premium meeting, event, and flexible workspaces, forming the largest single provider of dedicated meeting and event venues in the US and UK with a network of 38 locations across nine cities.

Let’s shine a spotlight on our team! Meet Tiernan Redmond, Head of Conference Sales in the UK. Tiernan is a highly valued member of our team, having spent nearly 10 years working inside of our venues across the UK. Having earned his stripes at the Shannon College of International Hotel Management, and working in locations such as the iconic Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, Tiernan brings with him a wealth of expertise. He began his journey in Business Development at etc.venues Prospero House before leading a team of sellers as the Head of Conference Sales for our UK portfolio. Tiernan and his team are responsible for selling some of the largest conference and event locations in London, including etc.venues County Hall, Convene 22 Bishopsgate, and Convene Sancroft, St.Paul’s. Despite his affinity to our London venues - such as the beautiful flow of Bishopsgate and the mesmerising views of County Hall - Tiernan also shares a soft spot for our Manchester, Piccadilly venue - “a city that puts a smile on my face every time I visit.” Tiernan’s encyclopaedic knowledge of our venues, his ability to carefully listen and cater to his clients' needs, and his willingness to go the extra mile is what sets him apart from other sellers in the industry. Do you need an award-winning venue to host your event, training, or conference? Tiernan and our team are just an email away - (enquiriesUK@convene.com).

Aesthetically pleasing, highly functional, and full of talking points; the interior design found at our venues is a major feather in our cap and a defining trait of etc.venues. Take this room from our County Hall venue, lavishly inviting but highly practical. A relaxing setup using leather and soft furnishings with the tables and chairs offering a space to socialise and dine. Accent lighting is also used to enhance the room’s visual appeal. Talking of lighting, that’s another crucial feature of our venues design. Natural light will always be prioritised, but the artificial lighting we install is meticulously thought out too; including adjustable systems to help set the mood. Colour and space is also a big consideration. Colours can inject energy, create calm or stimulate creativity. Whereas the utilisation of space and layouts helps to facilitate flow, accessibility and privacy. All of our venues benefit from the talented touch of design experts, with an aim to provide a memorable and productive experience for anyone who walks through our doors.

Situated just a stone's throw away from the Houses of Parliament and a couple of minutes' walk from Waterloo station, you’ll find the impressive etc.venues County Hall—one of our largest and most visited locations. Aside from being amongst some of London’s most recognised landmarks and offering breathtaking views across the River Thames, etc.venues County Hall also offers something exemplary inside—68,000 square feet, to be precise. With a multi-use event space spanning two floors, ideal for every type of conference, meeting, or event (private or otherwise), etc.venues County Hall is as large and grand as they come. When we first secured the property, we were conscious of retaining much of the building’s original charm, but it’s safe to say its authentic appeal now works in harmony with all the modern conveniences you’d expect from an industry-leading meetings and events venue in 2024. It truly is a spectacular host venue. Want to learn more about the incredible etc.venues County Hall? https://bit.ly/43hrG8N

Exciting news coming from Midtown Manhattan! Having witnessed nearly a 50% increase in demand year-on-year, 360 Madison Avenue is due to expand. This etc.venues location, part of the Convene portfolio of brands, will now occupy 68,000 sq ft across the fourth, fifth and sixth floors. So what does this mean for our visitors? It means an additional five meeting rooms, a 13-person boardroom, three mid-size event rooms catering for up to 42 guests, as well as a conference hall that can be used as a large meeting space or alternatively, split into three bespoke rooms - accommodating up to 210 people.
