The AUO #MobilityEcosystemSummit (#MES) 2024, held on June 27th at #MabuVillage in Hsinchu, was a huge success. Over 200 attendees showed great enthusiasm for exploring the concept of “Co-Creating Human-Centered Mobility.” Dr. Frank Ko, CEO and President of AUO, began the summit with a keynote speech highlighting the importance of human-centered design in mobility innovation. Keynote presentations from Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Tata Motors, and Analog Devices (ADI) followed, covering topics such as the automotive industry, future digital experiences, and innovative automotive cockpit technologies. The summit also featured a panel discussion titled “Shaping the New Automotive Landscape,” moderated by Michael Jaeger, CEO of BHTC GmbH. Summit sessions were packed with insightful presentations on successful cases of cooperation with strategic partners, Micro LED display technology for automotive applications, Smart Cockpit innovation, and commercial vehicle solutions delivered by AUO, #TongYingMotor (TYM), ADLINK Technology, #HsinChongMachineryWorks (HCMF Automotive), and Lextar Electronics. We are excited to announce that AUO has just been awarded the Gold Award for Sustainable Organizations of the Year at the #IndustryEaglesAwards. This remarkable achievement makes AUO the first company from Taiwan to receive this honor. We are beyond proud of this recognition, which is a testament to AUO's commitment towards energy conservation, waste reduction, and the promotion of a sustainable culture. Energy Conservation: AUO has implemented the "3030 Power Saving Project" with the ambitious goal of reducing electricity usage for production by 30% by 2030. The Taichung site has achieved an electricity saving rate of 2.41% in 2023. Waste Reduction: AUO has set a goal of plastic neutrality by 2030. As a pilot project, the Taichung site successfully reduced the use of plastic foot mat by 28.1% in 2023. Additionally, through mechanical transformation and material optimization, waste release agent molds have been reduced by approximately 13.48%. Sustainability Culture: AUO cultivates the sustainability literacy of its employees through various approaches.
