✔ International #BioBoosters project achieved the first pilot round with the great success of the companies and different stakeholders! 📃 Project manager Aalto Anna wrote an article to Jamk Arena about transferring BioBoosters Hackathon across the Baltic Sea Region – The Survivor Stories from the First Pilot Round! Jamk Arena gathers together articles with the expertise of JAMK University of Applied Sciences. The Hackathon challenge provider has a big opportunity to start a co-operation to the real need in our hackathons. "Based on the experience of the organizers, the most important factors in selecting and defining the challenges would be a real need as well as time and commitment from the challenge provider. This is the baseline that must be in place when starting the process." (Recorded focus group interview 24.1.2024.) Incredible times with the BioBoosters project team in historical Sandomierz, Poland, hosted by PRO CIVIS Foundation! 🍎 We were happy to visit in the apple producer and exporter Refal. Refal keeps the apples fresh by controlling the temperature of the storage, humidity, oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2). The storage room is filled with apples, which can fit up to 400 tons in the largest rooms. When the room is filled, the cooling device is started, which lowers the temperature to one degree. Sandomierz has a long history of the vineyards, because the Dominican munks brought them from Italy to Poland and the winemaking tradition still continues. We had a chance to visit to a vineyard.
