We were delighted to partner with Perkins School for the Blind as their students prepared for and celebrated the special milestone of senior prom. Our brands Herbal Essences, Head & Shoulders, OLAY and Gillette provided products and grooming services ahead of their big night, so they could look and feel their best. The students experienced our innovative packaging features, like tactile symbols that allow blind and low-vision users to easily identify their hair and body care products by touch. This simple yet significant feature helps Perkins students independently manage their personal care routines, boosting their confidence. Katrien Hellings had already accepted a job at another company when she applied to P&G. "I followed my heart at a very young age," she says. "I applied, instantly had a very good feeling, and decided to start here anyway." Twenty-five years later, Hellings says she still loves what she does. Tide is specially formulated to work on 100% of common stains, even in cold water. Did you know washing in cold water, instead of hot, can reduce your energy use by 90% on average? Washing on cold can also help clothes last longer, slowing color fading and fabric shrinking. And switching to cold from hot can save up to $150 per year when using a non-HE machine for a typical 8 loads per week, based on average electricity rates in the U.S. Through our Connected Homes research in the U.S., participants like Mike Furey and his family were able to help us gain deep consumer insights on the tasks, or "jobs to be done" in the home. These insights empower our brands, including Tide, to innovate for better products that take the hard work out of everyday tasks and help save resources.
