On World Youth Skills Day on 15 July, Motus celebrates our efforts to upskill workers and jobseekers in the automotive industry. The Motus Technical Academy (MTA) runs two facilities, one in Germiston and our recently relaunched Academy in Cape Town. Our qualifications offer learners a blended and work-integrated learning approach that allows learners to obtain a qualification and upon completion ensure that they are ready to be able to be employed in the working environment. Annually we have approximately 1 200 learners that are trained at the Academies. During the 2022 - 2023 financial year, a total of 1 167 apprentices attended training at the Academies. #Motus #MobilityForGood

Pentagon Motor Group, the UK passenger vehicle and van operation of the Motus Group, has added two further BYD dealerships to its portfolio. Sites at Derby and Nottingham join the business opened in Lincoln at the end of 2023. The new Derby and Nottingham showrooms for BYD share their sites with existing Pentagon Group Vauxhall operations, which have also been upgraded at both locations. David Peel, Managing Director of Pentagon Motor Group, says: “This is a product designed with the UK and other European countries in mind.” With the arrival of the two new BYD sites, the Pentagon Motor Group now has 66 franchise points at 38 locations, covering both passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, with 18 brands across its strong Midlands/Northern footprint. #Motus #CustomerChampions

At Motus, we take pride in our multi-generational workforce. Every generation brings a unique blend of perspectives, skills and experiences. By embracing diversity and collaboration, we create a dynamic environment where everyone can thrive and contribute their best. Our involvement with Youth Employment Service (YES) South Africa, which has played a key role in fostering our multi-generational workforce, has allowed us to recruit 890 unemployed young job seekers since its inception in 2021. In the first group, we recruited 435 individuals and secured permanent employment for 196. The second group saw us recruiting 455 job seekers, with 33 working with our flagship CSI partners, and hiring 166 into permanent positions at Motus. Our third group brought 505 job seekers to Motus and the fourth brought 650 youths. Let's continue to celebrate the richness of our workforce and the collective strength that comes from uniting different generations towards a common goal. Together, we can achieve greatness. #Motus #MobilityForGood

Hyundai and Motus believe that every child in South Africa deserves a quality education. Both Hyundai and Motus sponsor resource centres at primary schools in South Africa. In recognition of the profound positive impact Hyundai Automotive South Africa has had on the local community, particularly in the areas of education and livelihood, the company has been chosen as having the Best Regional CSR Programme across the Middle East and Africa regions. The longevity and consistency of Hyundai’s efforts in sponsoring libraries and resource centres in South Africa, now almost a legacy initiative, demonstrates the sustainability and long-term commitment it has in supporting literacy. Hyundai Automotive SA CEO Gideon Jansen van Rensburg received the award in Dubai from Bryan Park, head of Hyundai Motor Company’s Middle East and Africa Headquarters. #Motus #MobilityForGood

Motus is committed to creating sustainable value while actively considering the use of scarce natural resources in our business operations. We set multi-year targets focused on reducing our use of water, purchased electricity and fuel within our vehicle fleets. This has enabled a reduction in measured carbon of 16% since 2019, despite an increase in business operations. As part of our responsibility journey, we have invested in solar panel electricity generation at sites in South Africa, Australia and the United Kingdom, plus we ensure that our harvesting and recycling of rainwater is optimised for use in our wash bays. This World Environment Day let us reaffirm our individual and collective responsibilities to reduce, reuse and recycle. #Motus #MobilityForGood
