The Leonardo #SafetyManagementSystem (SMS) workshop, a structured approach to aviation safety management, took place earlier this week in Vergiate, Italy. SMS represents a structured approach to aviation safety management based on four pillars: ✔️ Safety Policy: the Managing Director defines the company objectives in order to deliver a product with a high level of performance, especially in terms of #safety; ✔️ Safety Risk Management: it includes all processes leading to hazard identification, risk assessment and control; ✔️ Safety Assurance: it ensures that the actions taken produce the expected results; and ✔️ Safety Promotion: using #training and communication to create a safety culture. During the workshop, a panel of experts and moderators took turns analysing procedures and safety policies, ensuring that the actions taken produce the expected results, and comparing success stories with literary works. The event underscored #Leonardo's ongoing commitment to promoting a culture of risk and safety management, where the need for continuous training and constant communication is crucial to creating a pervasive safety culture.

“The lift-off June 27 marked the last aircraft out and official end of the new helicopter’s time at Eglin and its flight forward to a future as an Air Force Global Strike Command combat capable asset. The #MH139 arrived at Eglin in December 2019 and was officially named #GreyWolf shortly after. For its first two years, testing was limited for the then Boeing-owned aircraft. The 413th Flight Test Squadron teamed up with #AFGSC’s Detachment 7 to manage, fly, and crew the test missions with Boeing flight crew during the aircraft’s time at Eglin.” Read more via Eglin Air Force Base: https://lnkd.in/dAER_FrY

The arrival of two cutting-edge Leonardo #AW139 helicopters at Joint Base Andrews marks a significant milestone for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)’s Aerial Measuring System (#AMS) program. These state-of-the-art aircraft are set to replace their legacy helicopters that have served the Remote Sensing Lab for nearly three decades. Equipped with advanced radiation detection systems, AMS aircraft play a crucial role in NNSA's radiological and nuclear detection efforts at large-scale special events. The AW139s represent a significant upgrade, providing enhanced detection capabilities, increased efficiency, and improved safety for the crews operating them. Their arrival starts an exciting chapter in the NNSA's commitment to ensuring the security of the nation's critical infrastructure and events. It also shows #Leonardo's commitment to public safety and the future of #aviation. Read more: https://lnkd.in/effzQJ5q
