After receiving a record-breaking 700 applications from 80+ countries and regions around the world, the top 30 teams have been chosen to take part in #BeChangeMaker 2024 organized by WorldSkills International, the HP Foundation and UNESCO-UNEVOC. #BeChangeMaker is a virtual social entrepreneurship training program that offers people across the globe the chance to bring their idea for a social business to life. It’s one of the ways the HP Foundation supports HP's goal to accelerate digital equity for 150 million people by 2030. This year’s participating teams have developed innovative business ideas spanning sustainable agriculture, ocean monitoring, inclusive education, and increasing access to medicines for marginalized communities. Over the next three months, they will benefit from tools and technology to support their growth, personalized coaching to help them navigate the challenges of building and scaling a social enterprise, and learning content provided by the HP Foundation’s free business skills training program, HP LIFE. Their journey will culminate in a live final pitch at WorldSkills Conference 2024 in Lyon, France, where the top five teams will showcase their solutions on a global stage. As part of HP's #40daysofdoinggood campaign, members and allies of the #Pride Houston BRG volunteered at Grace's Place, Tracy's Closet. On Thursday, we organized a Houston BRG mixer with Chevron and Out in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (oSTEM) to collect clothes donations, and on Saturday, we sorted, folded, hung and stocked the closet. We are #HPProud to do this work in support of the #lgbtq+ community in #Houston. This is another example of what #lifeathp is all about - coming together to make a difference in the lives of others. 💃Meet the Heartbeats of Our Mission. 💃 As part of HP Foundation “40 Days of Doing Good” campaign, we dedicated 23 April as “WE Day” for HP Singapore HR colleagues and I to discover boundless joy in giving back. We packed and distributed dry grocery food items to vulnerable families at the neighborhoods in partnership with The Food Bank Singapore. It is the embodiment of our collective desire to alleviate suffering, uplift communities, and create positive change. Volunteering is one of the priceless treasures in the world because through this service, we as individuals can make a difference. Despite Singapore being a developed country, food insecurity remains a very real and pressing issue. The Food Bank Singapore's work is vital in shedding light on this issue and providing support to those in need. By raising awareness and encouraging donations, we can all contribute to ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry. This year, #EarthDay2024 also coincides with HP's #40DaysofDoingGood , our yearly volunteer period that enables our employees across the world to give back to their communities. 🌎 My team in Houston had the opportunity to visit the Mercer Botanic Gardens. It was a great reminder of our need to protect this beautiful world and promote #sustainability wherever we can. I am so proud of HP for promoting a WE DAY for employees to spend time volunteering. I LOVE that this team, and all our colleagues, are donating their talent, time and energy to important causes this month. We have one planet, and it is more important than ever that we ALL work to protect it and provide the world our future generations deserve. #EarthDay
