Agriculture Worldwide: USA
These pictures reached us from west central Iowa in North America showing the dry application of fertilizer with the #FendtRogator900 for next year’s corn crop. The fertilization covered different nutrients: The front bin was primarily pot ash, which contains soluble potassium. Additionally, calcium and boron were applied to ensure the supply of both micro and macronutrients.
The largest United States crop in terms of total production is corn, the majority of which is grown in a region known as the Corn Belt. The corn belt comprises the Midwest of the USA, i.e. Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska. Last year, more than 388,6 million tons of corn were produced in the United States. Other important crops are wheat and soybeans.
The cultivated areas in the US are large and rounded off. The average farm cultivates 187 hectares (in comparison, the average farm size in Germany is 63 hectares). Therefore, high impact power is important for US farmers. The track width of the Rogator 900 can be individually adjusted to enable the necessary measures to be carried out quickly and safely in the field. Wide tires provide additional stability.
