Did you know tomorrow is National Aviation Day?
August 19th was picked specifically because it was Orville Wright's birthday. Orville, along with his brother Wilbur, and their sister Katherine founded the Wright Company.
The siblings used their experience managing their family's bicycle store to innovate in the field of aviation. At age 32, Orville piloted the first successful powered, controlled flight; changing the field of aviation, and the world as we know it, forevermore.
Here are a few ideas on how to celebrate National Aviation Day:
1. Visit your local library or download a NASA e-book about aviation
2. Visit a local museum that has an aviation exhibit
3. Share your first flight memories in the comments below, or record a video sharing your first experience
4. Go outside with your family and count how many airplanes you see passing overhead in an hour
5. Watch an aviation themed movie
