During the Charleston Wine and Food festival, culinary experts participated in a sandwich-making challenge at G&G offices. The chefs, given limited time and ingredients, were tasked to create imaginative sandwiches incorporating a "wildcard" ingredient. Shuai Wang won with a deli-inspired sandwich, followed by Amethyst Ganaway's crunchy creation. Joy Wilson and Ricky Moore also impressed with their unique sandwiches. Every sandwich was devoured, including Paola Velez's elevated BLT and Eddie Hernadez's barbecue-inspired bologna sandwich. The challenge inspired all involved to rethink sandwich creations. Choose Your Protein: ·        Think about flavor pairings (sagey livermush with peach, ham with cheese and mustard, bologna with baked beans). ·        Choose a bold protein and let it be the star. Layer on the Flavor: ·        Use classic pairings (sagey dressing and cranberry sauce, mayonnaise and barbecue sauce). ·        Be generous with the mayonnaise (use Duke's!). Treat Your Veggies Right: ·        Salt tomatoes before adding them. ·        Slice onions thinly for even flavor.
