With our client's permission, we're excited to share a brief overview of their project. Last year, they reached out to us for a hybrid powertrain system for their bulldozer. We supplied the electric generator, drive motors, and controllers. Now the systems are performing exceptionally well! In this solution, the electric motor is mounted between the driving wheels and instead of a transmission, it uses only a generator. This configuration ensures smooth operation without lags or gear shifts, and it features fewer moving parts compared to a standard bulldozer. Since the engine is solely used for generating electricity and not for driving the vehicle, it can consistently operate in its optimal efficiency zone, resulting in lower fuel consumption. How does an electric tug actually work? Often, the simplest way to understand how something works is to compare it to something else! When it comes to an electric tug, the most recognisable thing to compare it to is an electric car.
