That's why this Pride Month, we're shedding light on the importance of prioritizing mental health within the LGBTQ+ community. At Counseling Col:lab, we stand firmly behind the belief that everyone deserves access to affirming mental health care, free from stigma and discrimination. Together, we can create a future where LGBTQ+ individuals feel empowered to prioritize their mental well-being and live authentically, with pride.

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. How are you celebrating our AAPI neighbors, family members, colleagues and community members this month (and all year)? Three recommendations: 1. Check out the work of the The Asian Community Fund at the Boston Foundation and follow my colleague, Danielle Kim. 2. Read the current issue of Boston Spirit Magazine and specifically the article on community funds in support of the LGBTQ+ community, including a new fund launched in the Merrimack Value thanks to Julie Chen & Susu Wong. 3. Finally, read this piece that came out last year that centers LGBTQ+ mental health and the AAPI experience.

Simply treat them the way they want to be treated (including names and pronouns) and let them know you love them unconditionally.” - the Family Guide to Supporting Young People’s Mental Health and Well-Being, developed by Project Cal-Well. ⭐ February marks a hugely important month for two reasons: it is Black History Month (USA), and LGBTQ+ History Month. These two converging months represent the chance to listen and learn, how to make the workplace more accepting, and how to ensure that it is not a place of micro-aggressions.
