Sort of amazing how social media controls what is or not posted. Total mental control for the mental cases lol... Save the comment here while linkedin decides to allow or not posting follow ups lol... Barbara, I been researching data and working in transportation engineering for over 30 years. Proper data analysis is not being done. One huge reason for the increase of road fatalities is distracted drivers mostly using cell phones. Because this is a multi billion dollar business it is not and won't be addressed. General public health in the US is going from terrible to horrible. I suspect car crashes will increase exponentially in the next couple years if it has not done so already. Your data is likely not showing the real number of road fatalities. I have been a cyclists since I was in high school. I have stopped riding bicycles in Austin in particular because the lack of roadway maintenance and concern for the mental health of drivers. In terms of pedestrians Austin has not money for building sidewalks but has a billion to build concrete parks over highways. Look up the national data of pedestrian and bicycle fatalities for the last 30 years and you might find out that has not changed much. You are preaching to the choir and I am not even involved in the system. I am just observing and offering sound comments. I would not look at data from other countries in terms of having similar results because of cultural differences.

"Hope aint a tactic" As I was watching this clip today I thought of the distress in the suburban office building market. I see a lot of investors and owners on the sidelines "hoping" for a quicker recovery or some economic windfall. A lot of these class B and C office buildings are prime for redevelopment with multifamily entitlements. I'm not talking about converting an office building, but about repositioning the land with multifamily zoning and entitlements. The multifamily land values are still pretty strong and that market is expected to fully recover much quicker than the office market. Multifamily entitlements are what we do. Let us help you. Throwback Thursday - Toledo-Style -- Here is a view of the construction of the Fassett Street Bridge. The Lake Shore Railroad Bridge stretches across the photograph. A brick tower rises to the right. A small boat is passing underneath the bridge's middle section. Construction supplies are spilling down the Maumee River's bank into the water. A float with equipment and supplies floats nearby. A number of buildings are on the bank and at this time, only one of those buildings is a larger structure. A small ship is in the background of this picture. The city's skyline is on the left side of the photo and very different from that of today. -- The Fassett Street Bridge was designed to go over the Maumee River to connect Walbridge and South Avenues with Toledo's east side. When completed in 1896, citizens didn't take to the long, spindly structure. City leaders had to use a horse-drawn fire wagon and a couple of city firefighters to give the bridge a "speed test." The firefighters were told to drive the team at top speed across the bridge to see how quickly crews could reach the other side in an emergency. Their time was 125 seconds. But the test had the hidden benefit of proving to the public that the $214,000 bridge was in fact safe to cross. During the next six decades, the bridge took quite the beating. On April 5, 1957, 80-mile-per-hour winds ripped the Champlain, an 8,700-ton lake freighter, from its nearby dock and sent it crashing into the middle of the bridge.
