There is no controlling the outcome.
What you CAN control is your attitude, effort, and what you put into it.
In the lead-up to one of my last Ironman races, a pivotal airline flight threatened to throw off my carefully crafted schedule, which would jeopardize precious training, rest, and race time.
Just a few days away from the big event, I received the dreaded news—my flight was canceled, and the alternative offered a significant delay. Panic set in when I realized this would put me too far behind.
I refused to accept, “Oh well, there’s nothing we can do,” – I made it my mission to find a flight to get me to Panama City Beach on time & I did.
While this might seem like a minor incident, it taught me something – we often have more control than we believe.
Refusing to accept defeat and taking proactive steps — even in small situations — can make all the difference!
You can always control the controllables.
