People always ask “What is your passion or what gets you out of bed every morning?” It’s more than one thing.
My passion is people. It’s my team and the people around me. Not because they are all amazing people and great assets to my companies but becuase I get to be a mentor, help them grow in their personal life’s and in their careers. At the end of the day the effort and dedication falls on them but there’s nothing more rewarding than them setting a goal 6-12 months ago and watching them achieve it. There’s no amount of money that is more rewarding then seeing the people around you be successful. Whether if it’s within your company or you help then outside of your company.
What gets me out of bed is the people around me and the never ending challenges and vision that comes with being an entrepreneur. Sure.. we can be the FOUNDER/CEO but that position or title is nothing without a team who believes in you, believes in your vision and believes in the team you’ve built. The corporate model is the CEO is at the top. It’s almost impossible for employees to speak with them. I flip the triangle upside down. It’s important that I put my team at the top and they all have access to me for mentorship, growth and to help with their goals in life.
What truly gets me out of bed and is my passion is helping others grow from an idea to a business, employees go from an apartment to their first home, or first home to a forever home, help them get out of debt and begin to save for a big vacation or not live check to check.
My passion is helping others succeed. That’s my purpose on earth.

Being in marketing is hard, if you don’t adapt the industry will leave you behind quicker than it brought you in. Recently I was reflecting on my transition into marketing from being a middle school teacher and I realized next month will mark 5 years since I had my initial interview with Hoppin'.
5 years is longegivity in the marketing industry, which is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve been a part of the industry for a decade now and I can confidently say…Hoppin’ is different. I’m lucky to work for Rich M. , and a company that looks to set the trends, rather than copy its “competition”.
However, the real reason I chose to make this post was to express gratitude. I’ve chosen to stick with this company that I’ve helped build, not souly because I believe in what it can become but because I believe in the people I’m building it with.
School may have just ended, but it's never too early to start thinking about next year.
