Have you ever started a CIVIL3D project with a new template and wished you had all the C3D styles (surface, alignment, etc.) from another drawing? There is a way to accomplish this. Let me show you (please take a look at the image).   The prerequisite is to have the drawing with the C3D styles already created and set up. Here is a step-by-step way to do it:   1. First, click on the Manage tab on the C3D ribbon. 2. Then click on the IMPORT button on the right-hand side. 3. Once you click IMPORT, the window will pop up so you can select your source drawing or a template from which you wish to import your C3D styles. 4. After selecting your source drawing, select the C3D objects associated with the styles you want to bring into your new drawing in import settings. 5. Steps for Plan and Profile Production in Civil 3D at Advanced Stages 1. Initial Setup and Data Import   - Create a new drawing and import survey data.   - Set up the coordinate system. 2. Alignment Creation   - Design horizontal alignments with curves and tangents.   - Apply appropriate alignment styles. 3. Profile Creation   - Generate existing ground profiles.   - Design proposed profiles and apply styles. 4. Corridor Modeling   - Create and refine the corridor model with assemblies and targets. 5. Cross Section Views   - Create sample lines and generate cross-section views. 6. Plan and Profile Sheets Production   - Set up sheet templates.   - Create view frames and generate plan and profile sheets. 7. Detailing and Annotation   - Annotate alignments, profiles, and corridors.   - Add necessary notes and callouts. 8. Review and Quality Control   - Check for design consistency and run error checks.   - Conduct peer reviews. 9. Revisions and Refinements   - Incorporate feedback and update sheets. 10. Final Production   - Finalize sheets, print, and export digital files.

Whenever I want to attract some hate, I mention how in the AEC industry... ...we do not need 2D drawings! And here is why: 👇 I have no problems with floor plans and building sections. We are used to looking at buildings like that and even I prefer to look at the 2D floor plan myself in order to understand it. What I am talking about is this... The industry is creating 3D models of buildings until a certain (rough) level of detail (LOD 200 or something like that) and then manually creating hundreds of 2D drawings in order to explain everything that is not in that model. We are translating From 3D to 2D and then back to 3D (building). For me, this does not make sense and it is a huuuuge waste of time and intelligence. Why not just make a detailed 3D model and stop wasting time with manual drafting? Everything can be automated and 3D is much more easier to read than 2D...
