Why Soccer, All of a Sudden?" Ever Wondered That? Historically, my enthusiasm for sports could be likened to my enthusiasm for cold winter mornings—virtually non-existent. Yet, against all odds, the world of women's soccer has piqued my interest in a way I never anticipated. The Matildas' captivating journey to the semi-finals provided more than just a display of athletic prowess. It showcased an essence of camaraderie and unity that was both refreshing and inspiring. While I'd glimpsed moments of sportsmanship in other arenas, women's soccer radiated a unique blend of competition and mutual respect that was impossible to overlook. They demonstrated the magic that occurs when the masculine energy of DOING and the feminine energy of BEING work together. They were WILD women. Not just Surviving BUT Thriving. This was the definition of FEMININITY to me. This wasn't just about one team's triumph or an individual's skill; it was the collective spirit, the visible support players showed each other even across team lines, that resonated deeply with me. You could see it. You could feel it. The allure of women's soccer, as I've come to realize, lies not just in the game itself but in its embodiment of shared determination and passion. The women on the field represent more than athletes—they symbolize the potential and power of unity. So if my newfound interest seems unexpected, it's because women's soccer is an unexpected blend of heart, talent, and unyielding spirit. It’s REAL. And it's a combination too compelling to ignore. I am in awe of the Matilda’s and in fact, all of these women – regardless of the jersey they are wearing. They are the ripple starters. Follow their lead. #WomensSoccer #MatildasMagic #UnityOnTheField #SoccerSisterhood #GameChangers #MoreThanAGame #SportingSorority #FemaleAthletesRise #PassionAndProwess #SoccerUnexpected #FromSidelinesToCheers #KickingCeilings #BreakingBarriers

“If we show emotion, we’re called dramatic. If we want to play against men, we’re nuts. And if we dream of equal opportunity, we’re delusional. When we stand for something, we’re unhinged. When we’re too good, there’s something wrong with us. And if we get angry, we’re hysterical, irrational, or just being crazy. But a woman running a marathon was crazy. A woman dunking, crazy. Coaching an NBA team, crazy. A woman competing in a hijab; changing her sport; landing a double- cork 1080; or winning 23 grand slams, having a baby, and then coming back for more, crazy, crazy, crazy, and crazy. So if they want to call you crazy, fine. Show them what crazy can do.” It’s only crazy until you do it. It’s a mindset. A focus. A deep seated spirit. It’s an inner strength to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground, no matter what presses against you. It’s confidence. It’s belief. It’s a way of life. #EmpoweredWomen #WomenInLeadership #BreakingBarriers #Strength #Confidence #Equality #Inspiration #WomenWhoLead #WomenInBusiness #FemaleEmpowerment #WomenSupportingWomen #Nike #CrazyWomen www.oxfordleadership.com https://lnkd.in/gH_hDC2i

Wonderful video: It's crucial to remember that inclusivity plays a significant role in sports. Throughout my extensive athletic career and now in my budding professional journey, I've faced discouragement from both my peers, including individuals younger and older than me. • If we neglect inclusivity and fail to establish a standard during practices and games, or if we overlook inappropriate comments, then what purpose are we serving? At Backyard Sports Enterprises we wholeheartedly advocate for inclusiveness! #TogetherWeGetBetter https://lnkd.in/gzVS7kxS

🔥 “I am woman, hear me score.” - Dave Pell, Managing Editor of the Internet My Mother and I have a tradition of listening to NPR when I drive her to various doctors' appointments. We’ve probably clocked hundreds of hours together. This week, we tuned into NPR’s interview of Sue Bird, the best point guard in women's basketball history. She is also a 13-time WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) All-Star with five Olympic gold medals. Two things caught my attention: 1. WNBA players tend to come from marginalized groups and over-index on black and gay players. This may (partly) explain why women's basketball gets less press coverage and has a smaller audience. In other words, racism and LGBTQ bias are leading factors 😡. 2. The top WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) player makes $234k a year, while the top National Basketball Association (NBA) player makes $51 million—that's 218 times his female counterpart 🤯 . Sound familiar? How do we help our female players get their 💰💰💰? It's simple. We need to tune into their games and bring our family and friends along for the ride. More viewers = more advertisers = higher payout for players. 12.3 million people tuned in to watch the NCAA Tournament doubleheader on Monday, many of them specifically to watch Caitlin Clark. Can we turn this moment into a movement? #payequity #womenssports

Hey, GoBig community! 🎉 In the spirit of March Madness, that exhilarating time we all adore, let’s talk about the rollercoaster of emotions it brings. 🏀💔 I missed watching the first round for the first time in years, which was a bummer. But the Samford vs. Kansas game? It was a heartbreaker, especially since my son’s future lies with Samford. They lost by a hair - either by one point or three, amid controversy over a final foul. 😢🙌 This moment, so intense and emotional, mirrors our journey in business and life. It’s easy to blame a single setback for our troubles, much like that final, disputed foul. However, the true lessons lie in the details - in preparation, discipline, accountability, and overcoming hurdles, much like avoiding turnovers and making those crucial free throws. 🚀📘 It’s a reminder to focus on the entire journey, not just the bumps along the road. 💼🌟 Let’s embrace this wisdom as we stride forward. 💪 Love you all, and remember, let’s Go Big this year! 🌈🎊 🏀 #MarchMadness #GoBig #SamfordVsKansas #BasketballHeartache #LifeLessons #BusinessStrategy #Discipline #Accountability #OvercomingSetbacks #PreparationIsKey #EmbraceTheJourney #GoBigCommunity #HeartOverHurdles #EmotionalResilience #Teamwork #SuccessMindset #ChaseYourDreams #StayFocused #NeverGiveUp #LoveAndBasketball #GameTime #WinningSpirit #UnderdogStory #SportingSpirit #GoBigOrGoHome #BasketballLife 🏀 📞 Need to chat about changes or challenges in your business journey, let’s book some time to talk https://lnkd.in/g24HY7pQ 📧 Not ready for a phone call, shoot me an email at Seth@GoBigCC.com. As we continuously aim to elevate the world of women’s soccer, a question has been on my mind, and I would love to gather your insights. 👀 Does the performance department in your women’s soccer club tailor its structure and strategies specifically for women players? Or, does it mirror the structure and strategies from the men’s side of the club, possibly even adopting practices brought over by those who have primarily worked in men’s soccer? Understanding the intricacies of performance support that respects physiological and psychological differences can profoundly impact player development and team success. 💬 I invite you to join this conversation—share your experiences, observations, and suggestions. How is your club addressing these challenges? What changes would you advocate for? I’m looking forward to your thoughts! #WomenInSports #Soccer #PerformanceDevelopment #AthleteSupport #InclusiveSporting #WomensSoccer Visit us at: https://lnkd.in/gbjVeVF5
