To put Amazon’s plans for Bellevue in perspective, its current headcount in the one square mile area would make it the 13th largest company in the State. Upon achieving the 25,000 target, which it appears very likely to do by the end of the decade, the Bellevue employment alone would only be surpassed by the Navy, UW, JBLM, Microsoft, Boeing and Amazon Seattle. At the same time, the last apartment project to open in downtown Bellevue was the Bell 10 project in 2022. It filled up like greased lightning. Not one in 2023. Broadstone Savoie will open next month. Likely one small affordable project will finish late next year or early 2026, thanks to the Amazon Housing Fund. There will be zero after that one until 2-3 years after something else finally breaks ground.
